What Masahiro Ito said about Abstract Daddy
Gameranx reproduced Ito’s comment: “Yeah, the fighting against SH2R Abstract Daddy is much better than the OG one. Thanks to the Bloober team. 🙂” The comparison is Ito’s personal assessment of the remake fight against the original Silent Hill 2 encounter, not an objective measure or a statement on behalf of the original development team as a whole.

In a follow-up observation reproduced in the same report, Ito asked whether people had noticed “the reddish surface texture of the new A Daddy.” He drew attention to the remake creature’s appearance but did not, in the reported comments, give a definitive explanation of what the color means.
Who made the remake, and when did it release?
Bloober Team developed the remake, which Konami published for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. It released on October 8, 2024, according to Famitsu’s June 6, 2024 interview with Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto and Gameranx’s later report.

How the remake approached familiar designs
Okamoto described the project as a balance between preserving the original’s meaning and modernizing the game, with the original Japanese staff and Bloober Team discussing what to retain or change. In Famitsu’s interview, he used Pyramid Head as an example: making the figure larger could change its original meaning, so the team focused on movement and staging to convey threat. That context helps explain the care taken with returning creatures, but it does not establish that Ito personally directed every change to the Abstract Daddy fight.
