Why this date can be confusing
Quordle’s daily puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone, according to TechRadar’s guide. That means the same game may be called “today’s” puzzle in one place and “yesterday’s” in another. The weekday, calendar date and game number together identify this one: Monday, May 5, 2025, game #1197.

The starting-letter clue maps uniquely to the four listed answers, while the repeated-letter hint points to QUEUE. TechRadar’s author described trying several incorrect “-REAK” endings before landing on WREAK, and working out COWER by rearranging letters found in the wrong positions. That account suggests the challenge lies partly in distinguishing similar spellings and placing known letters; it is the author’s reported solving experience, not an independently tested difficulty rating.
