Ragnarok X: Next Generation does not have one reliably verified, all-region pet list: the roster and mechanics vary by server and update. For Global players, official notices confirm Phreeoni, Sasquatch, Mistress, Golem, and a September 2026 SP-pet system update. Use the list below as a set of verified Global examples—not an exhaustive roster—and check your in-game Pet Encyclopedia for current availability and exact values.
Verified Global pets: skills and acquisition
The following pets and details are identified in official Global notices. Their availability, Exchange Center listings, and prices can change. Quality names below follow the relevant notices; they do not establish every quality or pet available in every region.

SP pets: what the September 2026 update changes
In its September 3, 2026 Global version update notice, Ragnarok X: Next Generation introduced Fantasy SP, Gold SP, and Purple SP rarity variants. SP pets inherit a stated percentage of selected owner attributes and each has one passive exclusive Battle Skill. The notice’s wording is: “Each SP Pet has only one Battle Skill.” Consult the in-game display for exact inheritance percentages, skill effects, and rarity-specific breakthrough limits.

- If pets in active or reserve slots have Battle Skills with the same name, only the highest-level instance applies. Different Battle Skills can apply together.
- SP Battle Skills cannot be forgotten or replaced.
- SP breakthrough uses regular materials and pets of the same name and rarity. It raises star level, resets the pet to level 1, and can improve inherited attributes and skill effects.

How to choose a pet for your build or activity
Match the skill to the target
Read the skill’s target restrictions before choosing a damage pet. Mistress’s Chaos Strike, for example, is not effective against Boss, MVP, or MINI targets, so its listed effect does not make it a universal boss-damage option. For PvP, Golem’s Petrified Skin is specifically described as protection triggered by attacks from enemy players.

Separate combat pets from life-skill assignments
The official Japanese pet guide describes separate deployments: combat pets and life-skill slots for gathering, mining, fishing, and refining. A pet intended for a life activity is not automatically your best combat choice. The guide also says most talents, traits, and skills generally apply to the dispatched combat pet, though some effects can apply while a pet is reserved.
Weigh acquisition and progression
Compare whether a pet is captured, obtained from a boss, or acquired through a cage, then check the current Exchange Center listing and the pet’s quality. Base effects may differ from quality- or breakthrough-scaled effects; do not assume a skill’s full value from its name alone. For SP pets, same-name, same-rarity pets are part of the stated breakthrough requirement.

Confirm server and current version
Do not treat a Japanese roster as a Global roster. GameWith’s Japanese roster page reported a Comodo addition in an April 22, 2026 update, but that does not establish Global availability. The official Global notices verify the examples above, not a complete live Global list. Check your client’s Pet Encyclopedia and current notices before investing or planning a capture.

Pet system basics: capture, deployment, and care
The official Japanese guide, dated February 13, 2025, describes a system that unlocks at Base Lv. 50 and begins with a pet-guide quest. These are regional and version-specific instructions; confirm the requirements and labels in your own client.
Capturing pets
- Open the Pet Encyclopedia and travel to a listed monster habitat.
- Use the pet radar and complete the timing-based taming activity.
- Successful captures produce cages of different rarities. The guide also notes that some cages can drop from Boss monsters.
The guide states a maximum of 20 taming attempts per day. That limit is a Japanese guide mechanic, not a guarantee for every server or current version.

Deploying and maintaining pets
The Japanese guide describes up to six battle slots: one pet can be dispatched and five reserved. Most talents, traits, and skills generally use the dispatched pet, with some effects applying while reserved. Separate life deployment slots support gathering, mining, fishing, and refining. A pet’s mood decreases over time or through life-skill use; when depleted, it may stop being dispatched or its skills and traits may stop applying.
Leveling and breakthrough
In the same guide, pets level to 30 before breakthrough raises their star rank and resets their level. It describes star ranks up to five, or six for rainbow pets, plus traits and pet skill books; learning a skill can overwrite an existing skill. Because the guide is regional and predates the September 2026 Global SP update, check current in-game descriptions before spending materials or using a skill book.

Slime collaboration availability
The Global notice scheduled the Slime collaboration from September 7 through October 7, 2026, with its exchange shop available through October 10, 2026. Those dates have passed as of October 8, 2026: the event period is over, and the stated shop window is scheduled to close on October 10. Verify the shop’s live status in-game. The notice confirms collaboration SP pets but does not enumerate their names, so this list cannot identify them.
