Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Ubisoft documented and marked fixed a specific Rainbow Six Siege instant-reload bug in April 2023: repeatedly reloading the 6P41 light machine gun within a few seconds could occasionally produce an instant reload. That patch note does not establish the status of later reports. No current official confirmation was found that Ubisoft is investigating a new instant-reload glitch in 2026, so the title’s “under investigation” claim remains unverified.
What Ubisoft confirmed about the 6P41 bug
In its Y8S1.2 patch notes, published 11 April 2023, Ubisoft listed this gameplay fix: “FIXED – Continuously reloading the 6P41 LMG within a few seconds occasionally results in an instant reload.”
The note identifies the weapon, a condition involving repeated reloads, and Ubisoft’s status for that issue at the time: fixed. It does not show that every instant-reload report involved the 6P41, nor does it confirm the status of reports made after that patch.
Is Ubisoft investigating a new glitch in 2026?
No current official confirmation was located that Ubisoft is investigating a new Rainbow Six Siege instant-reload glitch in 2026. That is an evidence limit, not proof that no inquiry exists. Without a newer Ubisoft statement, patch note, or R6Fix report, it would be inaccurate to present an active investigation as confirmed.

For a later report to be assessed clearly, it needs a date and game version, the affected weapon or operator, the platform, the conditions under which it occurs, and an official status if one is available. A new report should not automatically be treated as the same issue Ubisoft marked fixed in 2023.
Why community posts do not establish current status
Community use of “instant reload glitch” has included historical accounts of reload timing and C4. For example, a Reddit post from 7 August 2023 was titled “Throwing c4 at a wall, shooting a shot and reloading then picking up the c4.” A video by leon, published 12 August 2023, used “How To Do The Instant Reload Glitch!” in its title. These are examples of community phrasing, not official confirmation that a glitch was broadly reproducible, remains valid, or affects particular platforms today.

There is no authoritative prevalence figure for this specific issue in the available sources. The community material also does not establish how many players were affected or the glitch’s duration or impact. This article does not provide exploit steps.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
- Documented historical issue: Ubisoft described an occasional instant reload after repeatedly reloading the 6P41 within a few seconds.
- Historical status: Ubisoft labeled that issue “FIXED” in Y8S1.2, dated 11 April 2023.
- Current investigation: No official 2026 confirmation was located. Later reports need their own evidence and status.
- Community reports: They show that players used the phrase for other described reload behaviors, but do not establish official status or current validity.
Access information is separate from bug status
Ubisoft’s 17 September 2025 event announcement said Siege was available in Free Access on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. It also described the Siege X Elite Edition as available at retail in select territories, with full access to competitive modes and instant unlocks of 16 Year 1 and Year 2 Operators. That is dated availability information, not confirmation of current stock or universal regional availability, and it does not speak to the glitch’s status.
