Rainbow Six Siege Year 10 Season 1, Operation Prep Phase, launched on March 4, 2025. Its headline additions were Rauora, a new attacker whose gadget controls doorway access, the Reputation System’s move out of beta, and a matchmaking update designed to adapt to server demand. Siege X was not part of this season: Ubisoft launched that broader transformation with Year 10 Season 2 on June 10, 2025.
What was Operation Prep Phase?
Ubisoft’s season overview identifies Operation Prep Phase as Y10S1 and lists March 2025; its Year 10 roadmap gives the specific release date as March 4, 2025. The season’s stated theme was controlling the flow of battle, reflected in its new operator and updates to player systems. Ubisoft’s season overview and Year 10 roadmap distinguish the season from the later Siege X launch.
How Rauora’s gadget worked
Rauora, an attacker from New Zealand, brought the D.O.M. (Deployable Omnilink Mesh) Panel Launcher. Its bulletproof panels attach to doorways; Rauora can deploy them from a distance and use a trigger at the top of a doorway to open or close a panel. The system gives teams a way to control whether a route is open at a given moment, without making every doorway permanently inaccessible. Ubisoft’s season details and Rauora’s operator profile describe the gadget and its operation.
Rauora’s listed loadout
- Primary weapon: 417 marksman rifle or M249 light machine gun
- Secondary weapon: Reaper MK2 or GSh-18
- Secondary gadget: smoke grenades or breach charges
At launch, Ubisoft said Rauora would be available through the Operation Prep Phase Battle Pass and unlockable two weeks later with Renown or R6 Credits. That is launch-period information, not a statement of her current availability or price. Ubisoft News’ February 16, 2025 announcement gives those launch details.

What changed when the Reputation System left beta?
Y10S1 moved the Reputation System out of beta and reset standings. Players who finished Y9S4 at Respectable, Esteemed, or Exemplary received a free Alpha Pack. During Y10S1, standing affected playlist access, ranked rewards, XP and Renown, as well as positive-match bonuses:
| Standing | Y10S1 effects listed by Ubisoft |
|---|---|
| Dishonorable | Locked out of Ranked, Standard, and Siege Cup; no access to Ranked rewards; 50% less XP and Renown. |
| Disruptive | Locked out of Siege Cup; no access to Ranked rewards; 25% less XP and Renown. |
| Respectable | One standing bonus point per match; the threshold required to unlock Ranked rewards. |
| Esteemed | Two standing bonus points per match and an exclusive card background. |
| Exemplary | Three standing bonus points per match and an exclusive card background. |
These are the restrictions and rewards Ubisoft specified for Y10S1; they describe that season’s rules, not necessarily the system as it operates today. The Operation Prep Phase page details the standings and their effects.

What was Dynamic Matchmaking meant to do?
Ubisoft described Dynamic Matchmaking as optimizing matches according to the volume of requests reaching its servers. The stated aim was to adapt to both densely and sparsely populated regions and improve match quality during peak hours. This was the system’s design goal; Ubisoft’s description does not establish a measured improvement or publish a result for players. The Year 10 roadmap also characterizes the system as responding to server request volume.
What else was included in Y10S1?
Cosmetics and operator price reductions
The Celebration Pack featured selected items from the game’s first nine years, including limited-time event collections and seasonal signature weapon skins. Ubisoft said it could be unlocked with Renown and was available in the Battle Pass. Season cosmetics named on the page included the Embers weapon and attachment skin, Core Strength charm, and Tectonic Reveal operator card background.

How did Y10S1 differ from Siege X?
Siege X arrived later, with Operation Daybreak, Year 10 Season 2, on June 10, 2025. Ubisoft’s roadmap lists the Siege X launch, permanent 6v6 Dual Front mode, modernized maps, destructible environmental ingredients, advanced rappel, and audio changes as part of that later milestone. Those features should not be attributed to Operation Prep Phase.
The distinction is useful when reading older season summaries: Y10S1 centered on Rauora and player-system changes, while the June update introduced the broader Siege X slate. Ubisoft said its later audio overhaul was intended to make auditory information more accurate through changes to reverb and sound propagation; that was a Siege X feature, not a Prep Phase addition. See the Year 10 roadmap for the chronology and feature list.
