Find it in a chest in Sage’s Cave, in Altus Plateau; the reported bonus is 10% in PvE and 5% in PvP. Its weight is 7.7, so the damage gain comes with a chest-slot defense and equip-load trade-off.
Where do you get Raptor’s Black Feathers?
Look for a chest in Sage’s Cave in Altus Plateau. Game8 places it before the fog gate leading to Necromancer Garris, while another item reference describes it as being behind an illusory wall. Check suspicious walls in the cave and use the chest as your landmark rather than relying on an exact route. The item reference and the cave listing identify the location.
Does Raptor’s Black Feathers boost jump attacks?
Yes. The armor strengthens jump attacks. Eldenpedia reports a 10% damage increase in PvE and 5% in PvP; these are reference-listed mechanics, not figures from a fresh gameplay test. Eldenpedia’s item entry also reports that the effect stacks multiplicatively with the Claw Talisman.
How to decide if the bonus is worth the chest slot
The listed weight is 7.7. Its listed damage negation is 8.0 physical, 10.2 magic, 10.2 fire, 10.9 lightning, and 9.5 holy, with 5 poise. Compare those values with the chest armor you would otherwise wear, and consider how often your build uses jump attacks. The bonus matters less if jump attacks are only an occasional part of your damage.

Is Raptor’s Black Feathers the same as Raptor of the Mists?
No. Raptor’s Black Feathers is chest armor; Raptor of the Mists is a separate skill. The skill is described as a low stance that can trigger an evasive aerial response when an enemy attack connects, followed by a jump-attack opportunity. Its reported 6 FP cost and version 1.07 adjustment apply to the skill, not to the armor.
What is the lore behind the armor?
The item description says the robe is made from the black feathers of a bird of prey and worn by Ravenmount assassins to imitate a Deathbird. It includes the line, “We are birds of prey, bringers of death.” That wording is item text, not a quote attributed to a named real-world speaker. The Ravenmount and Deathbird connection is explicit in the description; broader interpretations of what it implies about the group should be treated as interpretation, not confirmed developer commentary.
