If Ravendawn keeps closing on your PC, first identify whether it fails before login, during loading, or while you are playing. There is no single verified cause or current Ravendawn-specific crash fix established here, so start with low-risk Windows, driver, game-file, and background-app checks rather than changing settings or buying hardware at random.

First, identify what kind of failure you have

Note when the problem occurs and capture the exact error message, if one appears. Also write down whether it began after a Ravendawn, Windows, graphics-driver, or launcher update. These details help distinguish a launch failure or in-game crash from a connection problem; the available official guidance does not specify a Ravendawn crash-log procedure.

  • Before login: the game will not start or closes before you reach the login screen.
  • During loading or play: Ravendawn starts but closes while entering the game or playing.
  • Connection trouble: the game remains open but cannot connect or loses its server connection. That is not necessarily a PC crash.

Try these low-risk PC checks in order

Steam’s general Windows launch guidance recommends several checks that can help with PC games. They are not guaranteed Ravendawn fixes or a diagnosis of the cause on your system. Steam notes that launch failures can vary with individual hardware and software configurations: Steam launch troubleshooting.

  1. Restart Windows and install available Windows updates. Restart the PC, then check Windows Update and apply available updates before testing the game again.
  2. Update relevant device drivers. Get graphics and other relevant drivers from your PC maker or the component manufacturer. Use the versions offered for your hardware; no particular driver version is established as a Ravendawn fix.
  3. Check the game installation for damaged or missing files. If the launcher provides a file-check or repair option, run it. Steam also recommends verifying game files, but the available guidance does not establish a specific Ravendawn launcher menu or button path.
  4. Close non-essential background applications. Exit apps you do not need, then retry Ravendawn. If the game works, reopen apps one at a time to see whether the issue returns.
  5. Compare your PC with current game requirements. Steam recommends checking a game’s requirements and warns that a PC at or near minimum requirements can have launch or performance problems. A current official Ravendawn requirements listing was not verified here, so do not rely on guessed CPU, GPU, RAM, or Windows specifications.

If the problem looks like a connection issue

Ravendawn’s February 28, 2024 patch notes described a historical issue with its built-in global proxy: the studio said it caused connection problems for 5% of players during launch, preventing them from connecting properly. That figure is specific to the 2024 launch context; it is not a crash rate or an estimate of current prevalence. The notes said players who encountered new connection problems after that patch could disable the built-in proxy at the login screen using the Latency Tunneling Service option: Ravendawn patch notes, February 28, 2024.

What is not established

No current official Ravendawn crash guide, current PC requirements, or universal cause for crashes was verified. The steps above are general troubleshooting checks, not a promise that any one change will resolve the problem. Avoid buying hardware or using a paid repair utility until you have evidence that a specific component or software issue is responsible.
