The Razer Clio is not a regular pillow: it is a battery-powered speaker cushion that straps to a gaming chair’s headrest, placing two speakers near your ears so you can play without wearing a headset. It may suit players who want open-ear audio and already have a chair it can attach to securely; the key questions are fit, PC software needs and whether that unusual setup is worth a premium accessory.
What is the Razer Clio?
Razer introduced the original Clio in May 2025 as a THX Spatial Audio-enabled wireless speaker head cushion. Its two near-field speakers angle toward the listener’s ears. You can use it as a standalone speaker, or Razer says you can pair it with existing front speakers through Synapse 4 so the Clio acts as rear speakers in a surround setup. That surround function is a manufacturer-described capability, not a guarantee for every speaker or platform.
Razer’s specifications for the original model are:
| Specification | Razer’s stated figure |
|---|---|
| Drivers | Two 43 mm full-range drivers |
| Wireless connections | 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth |

Will the Clio fit your chair?
Check the headrest before buying. Razer says the original Clio’s adjustable straps fit headrests with a circumference of 47–65 cm. It specifically names the Iskur V2, Iskur V2 X and Enki lines, and says the straps can be adjusted for many other high-back chairs. That is not the same as confirming fit on every chair within those broad categories.
Independent fit reports show why measurement and strap security matter: PC Gamer said the wide headrest on its IKEA Markus ruled out a test fit, while attachment to its Secretlab Titan Evo was precarious with one strap. Those are reviewer-specific experiences, not a definitive compatibility list. Read PC Gamer’s review for its test setup.

Razer’s official support page lists a one-year warranty; confirm the applicable terms for your region with Razer.
How do you connect and use it?
Razer says the original Clio supports wireless use with a PC and Bluetooth devices. Synapse 4 is required for its full feature set and customization. For a rear-surround setup, Razer’s stated method is to pair the Clio with existing front speakers through Synapse 4.

Platform experience can depend on the setup. Tom’s Guide reported using the Clio as a primary speaker with consoles, while its surround setup required Synapse on a PC. Treat that as one reviewer’s experience, not a universal console compatibility promise. In its test, the reviewer paired the Clio with Razer Nommo V2 Pro front speakers and used a Fractal Refine chair; see Tom’s Guide’s review.

Razer lists an internal 5,400 mAh battery, up to 14 hours of battery life and an approximately six-hour full charge. Those are manufacturer figures; actual runtime can vary with use. The original Clio does not include a USB-C charging cable. Razer support recommends a high-speed USB-C cable rated at 3A.

Is the $230 price current?
About $230 is a fair description of the original Clio’s review-period price, not a verified current selling price. PC Gamer listed it at $229.99, and Tom’s Guide described it at $229. Current US pricing and stock, including Amazon availability, are not established here.
How does Clio X differ from the original?
Razer Japan announced Clio X as a separate product on September 7, 2026. Do not treat it as a revision that shares the original Clio’s specifications: the announcement describes two 38 mm full-range drivers, a 55 mm passive radiator and power from a separately sold USB-C PD 2.0 power bank. Razer says runtime can reach up to 40 hours depending on the power bank’s capacity and use. The release said Clio X was available through Razer.com, RazerStore and selected retailers; that does not confirm present-day availability in any specific market. Details are in Razer Japan’s Clio X announcement.

Who should consider the Razer Clio?
- It may make sense if you want to hear game audio without wearing a headset, have a high-back chair within the stated headrest range, and value the option to use the cushion as a wireless speaker.
- Look carefully at alternatives if your headrest is wide or difficult to strap around, you need a secure fit you cannot verify, or you primarily want a simple surround system without relying on PC software.
- Compare the setup, not just the price: a headset avoids chair-fit constraints, while separate speakers avoid mounting anything at head height. The Clio’s distinctive proposition is near-field, open-ear playback from a chair-mounted cushion.
