Razer’s Kraken V4 lineup has three models: the wireless Kraken V4, wired Kraken V4 X and wireless Kraken V4 Pro. The V4 and V4 X were announced on August 20, 2024; Razer added the Pro on September 28, 2024. “Gaming on every platform” is positioning, not a guarantee of universal compatibility: check your device’s supported connections and the exact headset setup before buying.
Which Kraken V4 headsets did Razer release?
Razer announced the Kraken V4 and Kraken V4 X on August 20, 2024. The first is wireless and the second is wired. At RazerCon on September 28, 2024, the company announced the Kraken V4 Pro as an addition to the recently launched models. Razer’s current U.S. product lineup lists all three.
How do the Kraken V4 models differ?
| Model | Connection and advertised features | U.S. listed price when accessed |
|---|---|---|
| Kraken V4 | Wireless; three connection modes, a super wideband microphone and nine-zone earcup lighting, according to Razer. | $179.99, per Razer’s U.S. listing; price may change. |
| Kraken V4 X | Wired; Razer lists USB-C and USB-A compatibility. | $79.99–$109.99, per Razer’s U.S. listing; price may change. |
| Kraken V4 Pro | Wireless; Razer’s announcement highlights an OLED Control Hub. | $399.99, per Razer’s U.S. listing; price may change. |
These are manufacturer-described distinctions, not independent findings about sound, comfort or durability. The listed prices are U.S. figures and can change; check the current listing and availability in your region.
Will a Kraken V4 work with your console or gaming device?
Do not infer compatibility with a particular console, PC or other device from the phrase “every platform.” The V4’s three wireless modes and the V4 X’s USB-C and USB-A connections give different setup options, but the available product descriptions do not establish a complete compatibility matrix for every device or configuration. Before purchasing, check Razer’s support information and confirm that your device supports the headset’s connection method and required setup.
