RDC 2025 was Roblox’s invite-only hybrid Developers Conference, held in person in San Jose on September 5–6, 2025. Roblox used the event to announce creator tools spanning AI-assisted creation, engine performance, competitive play, discovery, monetization, licensing and safety. Some announcements were in beta, still in development or planned for later release, so they should not be read as confirmation that every feature is generally available today.
What is RDC 2025?
RDC stands for Roblox Developers Conference. Roblox describes it as an invite-only event for developers, creators, brands and influencers, with keynotes, technical sessions, workshops, networking, product demonstrations and creator awards. Eligible creators may be invited to attend in person or watch virtually. The conference is now closed; Roblox’s Creator Hub points to the RDC 2025 YouTube playlist for recordings of keynotes, talks and Q&A.
The in-person conference was scheduled for San Jose on September 5–6, 2025, with the Roblox Innovation Awards on September 6. Roblox’s event listing separately shows an online event and replay window dated September 5–8; that listing does not mean the in-person conference lasted through September 8.
What Roblox announced
The announcements addressed several parts of making and growing Roblox experiences. The status matters: an announcement, beta or planned capability is not necessarily a feature available to every creator.

AI-assisted creation and language tools
Roblox described a system for generating functional, scripted objects rather than only static 3D assets. The initial focus was selected vehicle and weapon categories, with creators able to customize generated assets and add or replace their logic. The company also discussed Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text APIs, real-time voice-chat translation initially supporting English, Spanish, French and German, and Studio Assistant connections to third-party tools through Model Context Protocol (MCP). These were announced capabilities in development or rollout, not a guarantee of universal availability. Check current Creator Hub documentation for feature access and supported workflows.
Engine performance and competitive play
Roblox discussed asset-pipeline improvements and scalable lightweight interactive models (SLIM), designed to reduce compute requirements for complex composite models. It also said server authority was in closed beta: the approach shifts the source of truth for critical gameplay decisions to the server. Custom matchmaking was another announcement. Together, the tools were presented as ways to support competitive game development, but their actual availability and implementation requirements should be checked in current Creator Hub documentation.

Avatars and discovery

Roblox Moments, launched in beta, is a short-form gameplay clip feature intended to help players discover experiences; Roblox said APIs and source code for Moments would follow.
Creator earnings, advertising and licensed brands
Roblox announced an 8.5% increase in the DevEx rate for creators converting earned Robux to cash, subject to compliance with Developer Exchange Program terms. The announcement also highlighted Regional Pricing, Creator Rewards and Rewarded Video Ads. For advertising, Roblox said Ads Manager had received more than 40 improvements in 2025 and that over 45,000 experiences had used it as of August 5, 2025, a 70% year-over-year increase. It also announced new licensed IP catalog additions and said Mattel brands would become available.

Roblox framed these changes against the scale of its creator economy. The company reported 111.8 million average daily active users in Q2 2025 and more than 390 billion visits to experiences in the 12 months ending June 30, 2025. It reported that users visited an average of more than 21 experiences per month during FY 2024. Roblox also said creators earned over $1 billion through DevEx in the 12 months ending June 30, 2025. These are company-reported figures, not independent estimates.
Safety and communication
Roblox said it had shipped more than 100 safety initiatives since January 2025. It also announced plans to require age estimation for users accessing on-platform communication features by the end of 2025 and to add systems limiting adult-minor communication when there is no real-world connection. Those statements describe plans announced in 2025; they do not establish the current implementation status. Consult Roblox’s current safety and communication documentation for up-to-date requirements.

Where to watch RDC 2025 recordings
Because the event is over, the practical way to catch up is through Roblox’s official recordings. The Creator Hub RDC page identifies the event as closed and directs readers to the 2025 YouTube playlist for conference content. Individual feature availability may have changed since the announcements, so use current Creator Hub documentation rather than a talk recording as the definitive guide to using a tool.
