Sign in to the same New York Times account on the device where your Wordle stats are saved and on every device where you want to access them. NYT says logged-in players can access saved puzzle progress, statistics, and streaks across devices and web browsers. If you are not signed in, progress may exist only in that device’s local browser or app data.

Before you start: protect the old record
- Keep the old phone, tablet, computer, browser, or app available.
- Do not clear cookies, browsing data, or app data.
- Do not uninstall the NYT Games app.
- Open Wordle on the device that currently shows the correct streak and statistics.
- Decide which New York Times account should own the record.
This order matters. NYT says progress made while signed out is stored locally on the device. Clearing that storage can remove the only accessible copy of an unsigned-in record.
Sync Wordle stats from a browser
- Open the official New York Times Wordle page on the old device.
- Use the account or login control near the top of the page.
- Select Log in, or the equivalent account option shown in your current NYT interface.
- Sign in to the intended NYT account, or create an account if the page offers that option.
- Return to Wordle and open the statistics panel.
- Confirm that your expected streak, win rate, guess distribution, and history are still visible.
- On the new device or browser, open the official NYT Wordle page.
- Sign in to the identical NYT account before playing.
- Open the statistics panel and verify the record.
Login controls can move or use different wording depending on screen size, browser, region, and NYT interface updates. The important requirement is the same NYT account on both devices.

Sync Wordle with the NYT Games app
- Open or install NYT Games: Wordle & Crossword on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
- Open the account area, often labeled Me or represented by an account icon.
- Select Log In or Create a free account.
- Use the same NYT account connected to your browser record.
- Open Wordle in the app.
- Select the statistics or bar-chart control.
- Compare the streak and statistics with the web version.
NYT’s app documentation says the Games app provides access to Wordle statistics and streaks. Keep the app and your device’s operating system updated to the newest versions compatible with the app; no specific minimum OS version is established here.

Do you need a paid NYT subscription?
You need an NYT account for dependable cross-device access, but an account and a paid Games subscription are not the same thing.
- NYT account: The identity used to associate your progress and statistics with you.
- Device login: Being signed in on the particular browser or app you are using. You must check each device separately.
- Games subscription: A paid plan whose listed benefits include access to NYT games and saved progress, statistics, and streaks across devices.
NYT’s current subscription rules and available features can vary by account, location, and subscription arrangement. Do not assume that every player needs a paid plan merely to create an account or associate a basic record. Conversely, if Wordle or a feature is restricted for your account, check the current official plan information rather than relying on an old price or access claim.

If your streak or statistics are missing
1. Confirm the account first
- Compare the email address or account identity on both devices.
- Check whether one device uses email and password while the other uses a different Apple or Google login.
- Sign out and back in if necessary.
- Do not switch between accounts while attempting to troubleshoot.
Completing a login screen does not prove that both devices use the same NYT account. Verify the account profile details.

2. Confirm that you are using official Wordle
Open Wordle through the official NYT website or the NYT Games app. Unofficial clones, archive sites, browser extensions, and embedded third-party games should be treated as separate products. Their records should not be assumed to transfer to NYT Wordle.
3. Refresh the app or browser environment
- Open the statistics panel from inside Wordle.
- Refresh or reopen the page.
- Update the NYT Games app.
- Update the device operating system if the app requires it.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Sign out and back in.
- Try the official web version in a normal, non-private browser window.
4. Preserve the original copy
Do not erase the old browser’s site data, uninstall the old app, or assume that deleting and reinstalling will restore local-only statistics. Verify the new device first.

5. Contact NYT Games support
If the account is definitely correct but the record remains absent, contact NYT Games support. The available official guidance does not establish a guaranteed self-service repair or a manual statistics-editing tool for every legacy or conflicting record.

When two devices show different statistics
Different records may mean that one device is signed out, the devices use different accounts, one browser is showing cached local data, or a puzzle was completed before account association finished. Simultaneous play, switching between the website and app, and using an unofficial implementation can also make the records appear inconsistent.
- Stop playing temporarily on the device with the questionable record.
- Identify the device showing the trusted history.
- Confirm the account on that device.
- Sign in to that same account everywhere else.
- Refresh or reopen Wordle and check again.
- Contact NYT support if the conflict remains.
Do not manually edit browser storage unless you understand that it is an unsupported, browser-specific recovery attempt. It can overwrite or corrupt the record, expose local data, and stop working after a site change.

That does not establish syncing with a third-party Wordle clone, browser extension, Discord activity, or another independent game. Discord’s own Wordle FAQ describes progression in Discord as a separate environment, not as an NYT account record.
What not to do
- Do not clear cookies or browsing data before linking the old device.
- Do not rely on private browsing for a streak you want preserved.
- Do not assume a clone or Discord version shares NYT statistics.
- Do not install a third-party sync extension before trying NYT’s account method.
- Do not play extensively on multiple devices while the records disagree.
Final verification checklist
- The correct NYT account is confirmed on the old device.
- The expected statistics and streak are visible there.
- The same account is active on the new device or app.
- The streak and statistics appear on the new device.
- The current puzzle status is correct before you begin playing.
- The old browser or app has not been wiped until verification is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I recover Wordle stats that were never linked to an NYT account?
Possibly, but it is not guaranteed. Unsigned-in progress may be stored only locally, and the available NYT guidance does not document a universal migration method for every old or conflicting record. Preserve the original device and contact NYT Games support if linking it does not restore the statistics.
Will my Wordle streak sync if I use different Apple, Google, and email logins?
Only if those sign-in methods lead to the same NYT account. Compare the account identity on each device instead of assuming that different login buttons represent one account.
