They appear through camp conversations and activities across Chapters 2–4 and the Epilogue. This guide lists the reported trigger windows, items, locations, and rewards, then explains how to prompt and complete a request. The fine-grained entries below are reported by Tpose Gaming’s guide, updated October 8, 2026; the general triggering advice is also described by RDR2.org’s guide, updated August 5, 2026. These are third-party guides, not official Rockstar documentation.
How to trigger and turn in companion requests
There is no universal request button. Requests arise through camp conversations and companion activities, and some depend on the time of day, chapter, mission progress, or an activity such as poker or dominoes.

- Visit the active gang camp and walk through it. Look for companions reading, crafting, smoking, playing cards, or talking.
- Speak with available gang members and check whether a request conversation appears.
- If nobody asks, ride away, set a temporary camp, sleep to advance in-game time, then return and talk to companions again. Camp population and schedules change with story progress, so a missing prompt does not by itself mean the request is unavailable.
- Check the task log after the conversation. You can generally collect many requested items beforehand, but the give-item prompt becomes available only after the request is active.
- Return to the requester and speak with them to hand over the item.
The guides describe this general routine but do not establish a guaranteed sequence that triggers every request.

The guide notes that its time windows may also have story, activity, or prerequisite conditions. When an item is described as common, it may be gathered, looted, hunted, or purchased as indicated.

Important request-specific caveats
Hosea’s book request
The two guides differ on this entry. Tpose Gaming names The Case of the Shrew in the Fog, places it at Hagen Orchards, and reports an earlier pickup prerequisite: The Case of the Deceitful German. RDR2.org instead calls the requested book The Shrew in the Fog and describes a cabin near Saint Denis. The table follows Tpose Gaming’s newer, more specific listing; the discrepancy is not independently resolved.
Uncle’s Home Remedy
The guides also differ on the final ingredient. Tpose Gaming lists a Skunk Carcass and places the request in Epilogue Part 2 after “American Venom.” RDR2.org describes crafting the remedy at camp with Stringy Meat instead. The table reproduces Tpose Gaming’s entry rather than treating the ingredient lists as interchangeable.

Errand Boy achievement and trophy
RDR2.org reports that delivering five requests counts toward the Errand Boy achievement or trophy. The other consulted guide does not independently confirm that figure, so treat it as a guide-reported requirement rather than an official Rockstar statement. Requests are optional, and you do not need to complete every entry in the table for this reported five-delivery condition.
