Which ending does Roger Clark consider canon?
Clark’s pick is the high-honor version of helping John. In a Gamology fan Q&A, as reported by PC Gamer, he explained that Arthur’s days are numbered, so returning for the money would not do much for him. “You might as well help John,” Clark said, before describing that high-honor choice as his canon ending.

Here, “canon” means Clark’s personal interpretation of Arthur’s story. Coverage by RDR2.org and Gamepressure likewise presents it as Clark’s view, not as an outcome confirmed by Rockstar.
What are Arthur’s four reported outcomes?
The final decision combines two choices—help John escape or return for the money—with either high or low honor. That gives four reported variants:

Clark’s personal canon is the first combination: help John, with high honor. The choice he describes turns on what Arthur can still do for someone else, rather than what he might gain for himself.
Does Clark call it the good ending?
No. As GamesRadar+ reports, Clark says none of Arthur’s four outcomes is a happy ending for him. He has also challenged players who call one the “good ending,” asking, in effect, how any of them could be good for Arthur.

That distinction matters: helping John is the outcome Clark favors, but his preference does not turn Arthur’s fate into a happy one. His answer is about the choice that feels most fitting to him, given Arthur’s circumstances.

In the same PC Gamer-reported interview, Clark said the one thing he regretted was pronouncing Colm O’Driscoll incorrectly. He joked that Rockstar made him say it wrong and did not accept his correction. It is a separate performance anecdote, not an explanation of the ending.
