Red Dead Redemption’s PC port is no longer incoming: the game launched on October 29, 2024. The PC release includes the complete single-player game and Undead Nightmare, but no multiplayer. Here’s what the port offers and what to check before buying.
When did Red Dead Redemption release on PC?
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare launched for PC on October 29, 2024. Take-Two announced the release that day, and the date is also listed on the official Steam product page and Rockstar Store listing.
That means an old store-listing report about an impending port should be read as a pre-release story, not as a description of the game’s current status. The publisher’s announcement named the Rockstar Store, Steam and Epic Games Store as PC purchase options; check those storefronts for current availability in your region.
What does the PC version include?
The digital PC package contains the complete single-player experiences of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare, along with bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. The main story follows former outlaw John Marston across the American West and Mexico. Undead Nightmare recasts the setting as a supernatural zombie-horror story.

There is no multiplayer mode. Rockstar’s product information and Steam both describe the release as single-player only, so it is not the version to choose if multiplayer is what you want.
What PC features does the port advertise?
Take-Two’s launch announcement describes a set of PC display and graphics options, including native 4K resolution at up to 144 Hz on compatible hardware, HDR10, and support for ultrawide 21:9 and super ultrawide 32:9 monitors. It also lists adjustable draw distances and shadow quality, full keyboard and mouse functionality, NVIDIA DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.0 and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation.

- Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation.
- Also included is Undead Nightmare, the iconic horror story that transforms the world of Red Dead Redemption into an apocalyptic fight for survival against a zombie horde.
- Featuring the complete single-player experiences of both games, Red Dead Redemption also includes bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition and more.
These are publisher-stated features, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or image quality on every computer. The available resolution, refresh rate and rendering options depend on compatible hardware and display equipment. Steam also describes HDR lighting and PC display options on its product page.
What are the PC system requirements?
Steam lists the following minimum and recommended specifications. These are storefront requirements, not performance guarantees; check the listing for the latest details before installing.
