Is Red Dead Redemption on Netflix?
Yes. Netflix’s guide says subscribers can download Red Dead Redemption to a mobile device and play without ads or in-app purchases. The mobile release also includes the standalone Undead Nightmare expansion. Netflix does not establish worldwide availability or a particular subscription price in the pages cited here.

Netflix Help Center lists Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad as supported device types, and says the game is optimized for mobile controls and performance. Check the game’s listing in your device’s app store and Netflix account to confirm availability for your location and device.

Which platforms have the December 2025 release?
Rockstar announced the release for iOS, Android, Netflix, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2. The release pairs the original game with Undead Nightmare. Rockstar named Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games as collaborators on the new console versions.
Rockstar Store describes the console release as the complete single-player experiences of both games, with additional content from the Game of the Year Edition. It says Red Dead Redemption does not feature multiplayer content. The available official material does not establish a comprehensive performance comparison across platforms, so resolution and frame-rate claims should not be assumed from the platform list alone.

Can you upgrade a PS4 or Xbox One copy for free?
Rockstar’s announcement said owners of the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions, and owners of the digital backward-compatible Xbox One version, could upgrade digitally for free and carry over their progress. Rockstar Support separately confirms that the PS4 version can be upgraded to PS5 for free.

The Xbox wording is specific: it refers to the digital backward-compatible Xbox One version. It does not promise the same upgrade for every Xbox format, including an original Xbox 360 disc. If a qualifying entitlement is not visible in your platform store, check the current platform support instructions; redemption steps can change.

What to know about catalogs and current availability
Rockstar said the console releases would be available in the GTA+ Games Library and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on December 2, 2025. That announcement establishes the launch-date inclusion, not whether either catalog still carries the game now. Check the live service catalog before relying on subscription access.

How big is the Red Dead series?
Take-Two Interactive’s January 2026 investor presentation reported that the Red Dead series had sold in over 110 million units worldwide. This is a publisher-reported, series-level sell-in figure; it is not a unit-sales figure for the December 2025 edition.
