The pre-launch report was broadly accurate, but it combined official design information with certification data and did not represent every final global configuration.
The biggest differences are important: TENAA-related coverage reported a 5,860mAh rated battery and up to 24GB of RAM with 1TB of storage, while REDMAGIC’s retail materials advertise a 6,000mAh battery and the cited global model is listed in 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB versions.

What REDMAGIC officially revealed before launch
Before the April 16 Chinese launch, REDMAGIC confirmed the product name, launch date, and several design features. The 10 Air would use a full-screen front panel with an under-display selfie camera, gaming-focused shoulder triggers, and a slim body measuring approximately 7.85mm. REDMAGIC also showed three pre-launch color options: Frost Blade White, Shadow Black, and Flame Orange. Contemporaneous coverage reported these official disclosures alongside the certification leak.
These details should be separated from the specifications that appeared through TENAA. The phrase “full specifications leaked” is therefore imprecise: REDMAGIC officially teased the design, while many hardware details came from a Chinese certification listing associated with model NX779J.

What the April 16, 2025 launch confirmed
REDMAGIC officially launched the phone in China on April 16, 2025. Contemporaneous Chinese coverage reported a starting price of 3,499 yuan, or 2,999 yuan after China’s subsidy. ITHome’s launch report confirmed the phone’s central hardware direction.
The final device retained the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, 6.8-inch display, 120Hz refresh rate, under-display camera, dual 50MP rear-camera arrangement, slim 7.85mm body, and 80W charging. REDMAGIC marketed the battery as 6,000mAh rather than the 5,860mAh rated-capacity figure reported from certification data.
Final global specifications
Design and display
The global model measures 164.3 × 76.6 × 7.85mm and weighs 205g. Its aviation-aluminum middle frame is enclosed by glass on both sides. The global color names are Twilight, Hailstone, and Flare; these differ from the Chinese-market names reported before launch.
The phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 2,480 × 1,116 resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, claimed 1,600-nit peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and Gorilla Glass protection. REDMAGIC claims a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio.

- 【MODEL‑SPECIFIC COMPATIBILITY】 Exact size matching for target phone models; seamless installation interface; precise replacement for damaged mobile screens
- 【STABLE TOUCH PERFORMANCE】 Sensitive touch response; anti‑wear touch panel; durable outer layer against daily scratches and impacts
- 【COMPREHENSIVE FAULT RESOLUTION】Ideal spare part to fix common screen problems such as display blur, unresponsive touch and cracked panel
- 【QUALITY‑CHECKED SPARE PART】 Strict pre‑shipment testing; shockproof packaging; reliable replacement component for mobile phone screen maintenance
Its 960Hz average touch-sampling rate and up to 2,000Hz instant touch-sampling rate are not refresh rates. They describe how frequently the phone detects touch input; the panel itself refreshes at up to 120Hz. REDMAGIC also lists a 520Hz touch response for the shoulder triggers.
Performance and cooling
The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with a CPU peak frequency of up to 3.3GHz, an Adreno GPU, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage, and the REDMAGIC RedCore 3 gaming chip. As of 2026, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a previous-generation flagship platform rather than the newest high-end mobile processor.

A pre-launch report inferred that design imagery might indicate a centrifugal fan, but that was not an official confirmation of the final global cooling system.
Battery
REDMAGIC advertises a 6,000mAh battery and charging of up to 80W. The company claims a full charge in approximately 52 minutes and up to 28 hours of battery life under its laboratory conditions. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.
The apparent capacity discrepancy is best understood as rated versus marketed capacity: certification-related reporting listed 5,860mAh as the rated figure, while REDMAGIC’s retail materials use 6,000mAh as the advertised or typical capacity. The available evidence does not establish that one source simply “got the battery wrong.”

Cameras
The rear system combines a 50MP main camera and a 50MP secondary camera, with OIS listed for the rear camera system. REDMAGIC identifies the sensors as OV50E40 and OV50D40. The front camera is a 16MP under-display unit.
Recommended Free Tools
The under-display camera keeps the gaming and viewing area free from a punch-hole cutout, but megapixel counts do not establish image quality. Buyers who care about selfies or video calls should treat the camera placement as a design trade-off and look for independent image testing rather than assuming it matches a conventional front camera.
Connectivity, software, and durability
- Dual nano-SIM and 5G support
- Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and GPS with L1, L2, and L5 support
- USB-C connectivity
- USB 2.0 data interface on the detailed global specification page
- IP54 splash and dust resistance
- REDMAGIC OS 10 and Google Gemini promotion on the global product page
- Under-display fingerprint reader, IR sensor, programmable Magic Key, and customizable RGB lighting
USB 2.0 is a notable limitation for a phone with high-end internal hardware. It is adequate for ordinary charging and basic transfers, but users who regularly move large game recordings or video files should not expect flagship-class wired transfer speeds. IP54 is also not equivalent to IP68 waterproofing.
REDMAGIC’s cited specification pages do not establish a long-term Android-version or security-update commitment. Buyers who prioritize predictable software support should verify the policy for their region before purchasing.

China model versus global model
The TENAA report and the global retail product should not be treated as interchangeable. The cited global specification page lists 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB configurations, not the reported 24GB/1TB range. China and global versions may also differ in color names, software, preinstalled services, cellular bands, warranty coverage, accessories, and charging equipment.

Anyone importing a China-market handset should verify the exact model, Google-services behavior, notification support, warranty terms, charger, and local 4G and 5G bands. REDMAGIC specifically advises buyers to check carrier compatibility, including LTE and 5G bands and VoLTE requirements, before ordering. See the official regional sales listing for availability and compatibility information.
Is the REDMAGIC 10 Air worth considering?
The 10 Air makes the most sense for mobile gamers who want a relatively thin 205g phone, a full-screen 120Hz AMOLED display, programmable shoulder controls, a large battery, and gaming-focused thermal hardware without relying on a visibly exposed active fan. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 remains capable for demanding games, although it is no longer a current flagship chip in 2026.
The trade-offs are equally clear. The camera system is not the reason to buy it, USB 2.0 limits wired transfers, IP54 is modest protection, and the software-support commitment is not clearly established on the cited global specification page. Buyers also need to confirm carrier compatibility and regional warranty coverage.
REDMAGIC announced the global product during an April 23, 2025 announcement period, separate from the April 16 Chinese launch. Global configurations, color names, and availability therefore deserve their own verification rather than being inferred from the original TENAA report. REDMAGIC’s global announcement provides that later context.

Bottom line
The pre-launch REDMAGIC 10 Air report was directionally reliable, but it was not a complete official specification sheet. REDMAGIC officially revealed the full-screen design, under-display camera, triggers, colors, and launch date; TENAA-related reporting supplied most of the numbers. The final phone confirmed the core performance and gaming hardware, changed the retail battery wording to 6,000mAh, and offered a narrower set of global memory and storage configurations than the reported Chinese listing.
