It debuted in September 2024 and is also marketed by some retailers as the RedMagic Nova Gaming Tablet. Its main attractions are a 10.9-inch 144Hz LCD, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, active cooling, a 10,100mAh battery and advertised 120W charging. In 2026, however, the bigger question is whether an imported unit has acceptable firmware, Google services, warranty coverage and total ownership cost.
The original launch coverage was published on September 9, 2024, so “New Arrival” should be read as historical wording rather than a current release claim.

Specifications vary between regional and reseller pages. The most reliable buying practice is to treat disputed features—especially cellular connectivity, microSD expansion and high-memory configurations—as unconfirmed until the seller provides the exact model number.

What name should you search for?
Search results may use several names: Red Magic Gaming Pad Pro, RedMagic Gaming Tablet Pro, RedMagic Nova and Red Magic Nova Gaming Tablet. Several reseller pages identify the Nova as an international or alternate name for the same 10.9-inch tablet, but retailer naming is not the same as a universally confirmed manufacturer naming policy. Compare the model number, firmware description and included accessories rather than relying on the product title alone.

Gaming performance and active cooling
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version was a high-end 2024 mobile processor, with retailer documentation describing an elevated clock speed of approximately 3.4GHz. It should provide strong performance for demanding Android games, emulation, multitasking and other 3D applications. That does not make it a definitive performance leader in 2026: newer processors and tablets may now be faster, and no independent benchmark results were established for this article.
The tablet’s gaming identity also comes from its active cooling system. Listings describe a built-in centrifugal fan, roughly 20,000rpm fan speed and the REDMAGIC PAD ICE 2.0 system, including heat pipes, copper foil and internal airflow channels. A claimed temperature reduction of up to 25°C is an advertised maximum, not an independently verified result.
Active cooling can help the processor maintain performance during long sessions, but lower temperatures do not automatically guarantee higher frame rates. Game optimization, resolution, graphics settings, thermal limits and frame-rate caps remain decisive. The fan may also add noise and mechanical complexity. Avoid cases or stands that cover the exhaust.
144Hz LCD: useful for games, not a guarantee of 144fps
The 2,880 × 1,800 display is commonly described as a 2.8K panel, although that label is marketing shorthand for its native resolution. A 144Hz refresh rate can make supported games, scrolling and system animations look smoother. The reported 840Hz touch-sampling figure describes touch input responsiveness under supported conditions; it does not mean the screen refreshes at 840Hz.

Not every Android game supports 144fps. A title may be capped at 60 or 90fps, or fail to reach higher frame rates because of its graphics workload. The LCD panel avoids OLED burn-in concerns, but buyers seeking deep blacks, stronger contrast and premium media playback may prefer an OLED tablet.
Battery life and 120W charging
The 10,100mAh battery is a substantial capacity for a tablet of this size. Retailer pages quote up to 18.7 hours of general use and approximately 10 hours of gaming, but these are usage-dependent listing claims rather than standardized independent tests. Maximum brightness, 144Hz mode, demanding games, active cooling and wireless connectivity can reduce runtime significantly.
The advertised 120W charging speed may also depend on the supplied charger, cable, regional power compatibility and proprietary charging behavior. Some imported packages may use a non-US plug or fall back to slower USB-PD charging. Confirm what is included before ordering.
Software: the most important import risk
Listings commonly identify Android 14 and REDMAGIC OS 9.5, with English and Chinese language support. Some retailers also advertise Google Play. That does not guarantee that every imported unit has the same software experience as an official global model.
Before buying, ask the seller for:
- the exact model number;
- whether the device uses China-market firmware or official global firmware;
- Google Play certification status;
- the available system languages;
- the expected OTA update channel and policy;
- bootloader and software-modification details.
A “global ROM” can mean an unofficial seller-installed modification rather than an official international firmware package. Possible consequences include incomplete language support, unreliable notifications, banking-app problems, DRM or streaming limitations, different gaming features and inconsistent updates. If your tablet must support work apps, banking or long-term software updates, official regional support may be worth more than this model’s extra gaming hardware.

Connectivity, cameras and controls
Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB-C are repeatedly listed. Several specification tables describe the tablet as Wi-Fi-only with no SIM support. One launch report mentioned 5G, but that claim conflicts with the stronger no-SIM listings. Do not assume cellular connectivity unless the seller can show a SIM tray, modem information, IMEI capability and supported LTE or 5G bands.

This is principally a gaming tablet, not a camera-focused device. Four speakers, noise-canceling microphones and reported haptic hardware are more relevant to games and media. One regional listing does not report a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Portability and accessories
At roughly 530g and 7.3mm thick, the tablet is compact for a gaming device but heavier than many small conventional tablets. It can be comfortable for handheld play, although long sessions may be easier with a stand or controller. The 16:10 screen offers more space than a phone without the bulk of a large productivity tablet.
Reported compatible accessories include a magnetic detachable keyboard, stylus, magnetic smart case and screen protector. Giztop has listed price signals of $9.99 for a screen protector, $29.99 for a case and $69.99 for a stylus. Verify accessory compatibility by model, particularly when buying a Nova-branded or China-market unit.

- Confirm whether the listing is the Gaming Pad Pro or Nova and request the model number.
- Confirm China versus official global firmware, languages and Google Play certification.
- Assume Wi-Fi-only operation unless cellular hardware and bands are documented.
- Assume there is no microSD slot until the exact model proves otherwise.
- Confirm the charger plug, cable and maximum supported charging standard.
- Read the dead-on-arrival, return and warranty terms, including who pays international return shipping.
- Calculate the total delivered cost, including tax, customs, accessories and a compatible charger.
Who should buy it?
It is a good fit for Android gamers, emulation users and controller-based players who prioritize sustained performance, a high-refresh-rate screen, large battery capacity and fast charging—and who are comfortable importing hardware.
It is a poor fit for buyers who need official US support, guaranteed OTA updates, cellular connectivity, OLED contrast, a lightweight travel tablet or an uncomplicated warranty process. A current officially supported Android tablet, OLED flagship or newer RedMagic model may be the safer direction, but each alternative should be compared using current specifications and pricing.
Verdict
The RedMagic Gaming Pad Pro remains technically compelling: its 144Hz LCD, flagship-generation Snapdragon chip, active fan cooling and large battery are unusually gaming-focused. But it is a 2024 tablet, not a new 2026 arrival. The buying decision now depends less on headline performance than on the specific imported unit’s ROM, Google certification, network support, storage options, charger, warranty and final price.
