In Remnant II, armor choice comes down to the stats of the pieces you wear and their combined weight—not matching a complete set. Compare total armor, status resistance, and the weight class your equipped pieces produce; that class affects stamina cost and dodge behavior.
How armor works in Remnant II
Each armor piece contributes armor value, weight, and status resistances. Your equipped pieces combine into a total weight, which determines your weight class. The community-maintained armor set list, stats reference, and body armor list provide those dimensions for comparing equipment. These are wiki references rather than official developer documentation, so values and access requirements may change with game updates.

Weight classes, stamina, and dodging
The stats reference reports these cumulative armor-weight breakpoints and stamina penalties:

Those figures and the dodge descriptions are reported by the wiki stats reference; they are not official developer documentation. The reference says lower weight classes have superior directional rolls. It also distinguishes Neutral Dodges: they are identical across classes except at Ultra Heavy, where they are slower. That is more specific than saying every heavier class simply makes every dodge slower.

Do full armor sets give a bonus?
No direct gameplay benefit is listed for wearing a complete armor set instead of a mixed selection; the set list identifies appearance as the exception. Choose matching pieces for their look if you like, but do not assume a full set activates a gameplay bonus.
How to choose armor for your build
- Decide your weight-class target. Use the combined weight of all equipped armor, not an individual piece, and check which breakpoint the total falls into.
- Compare armor value and resistance. Consider the damage protection and status resistance relevant to the encounter or build, rather than treating the largest armor value as automatically best.
- Evaluate individual pieces and slots. The body armor list includes armor-to-weight ratio, a useful comparison when selecting body pieces; assess the rest of your equipped pieces as part of the total.
- Check where the item comes from. Confirm its location or unlock condition, and verify DLC access before planning around it.
There is no universally best set: a heavier option may push you across a weight threshold, while a different piece may better suit the resistance you need. Compare the complete loadout against your desired weight class and priorities.

Armor sets and where to find them
The armor set list is a starting point for browsing sets and their associated pieces. Some entries are marked as requiring The Forgotten Kingdom DLC, so access is not universal. Check an item’s own page and the current game version for its location, unlock requirements, and availability. The linked wiki pages are community-maintained and may not reflect every change introduced by a patch.
