GOG’s classic release preserves the original game while adding compatibility and display options for modern Windows PCs. It is distinct from Capcom’s later Resident Evil 3 remake.
When did Resident Evil 3: Nemesis come to GOG?
GOG announced the re-release on September 23, 2024, and set its launch for September 25 at 8 AM UTC. On September 25, GOG confirmed that the game was available. The “this week” wording is therefore out of date.
Which Resident Evil 3 is on GOG?
GOG’s listing is for the original classic PC game, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, not the later remake. Its story follows Jill Valentine as she tries to escape Raccoon City, beginning just hours before the events of Resident Evil 2, according to the GOG listing.
What does the GOG edition include?
GOG says the re-release retains the original content and adds modern compatibility and usability features. The listing includes:

- EXPLORE RACCOON CITY FROM A NEW PERSPECTIVE -- Get even closer to the action with an over-the-shoulder camera and updated control scheme, drawing you into every bloodcurdling encounter.
- SURVIVE TOGETHER IN THE MULTIPLAYER MODE -- Bring up to four friends into the carnage with Resident Evil Resistance, a multiplayer survival horror experience included in the Resident Evil 3 package. Available as a PlayStation 4 title compatible on all PlayStation 5 devices. Includes code necessary for redemption, requires additional download not on disc.
- NEW FOR PLAYSTATION5 – Upgraded features new to the PlayStation5 version of the game include a higher frame rate, 3D audio, added ray tracing, and engaging DualSense support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers.

Yes. GOG offers a fully offline installer, and Galaxy is not required to install or play the game. Galaxy is optional for features such as cloud saves and achievement synchronization. The listing describes the game as DRM-free.
System requirements
GOG lists the following minimum requirements for the Windows release; Capcom’s store listing identifies its offer as a GOG code and lists the same requirements:
