Capcom said on March 16, 2026, that Requiem had exceeded six million units sold worldwide, making it the fastest game in the series to reach that milestone. In the same release, Capcom reported more than 183 million cumulative Resident Evil game sales as of December 31, 2025. Those are company-reported figures, not current live sales totals. How does gameplay differ between Grace and Leon?
Grace’s sections emphasize the pressure of limited resources and avoiding or assessing danger; crafting gives her another way to manage threats. Leon has a more direct combat toolkit, including firearms, melee moves, parries, and equipment upgrades. Director Koshi Nakanishi described the design as alternating between Grace’s horror-heavy passages and Leon’s action-focused ones.
Nakanishi also explained that some consequences carry across characters in a shared location: an enemy killed by one character remains dead for the other, and items left on the ground persist. That is a director’s description of connected mechanics, not a claim that every level uses the same structure. Can you play in first or third person?
Yes. The official PlayStation page says players can choose first-person or third-person perspective for both Grace’s and Leon’s stories. The cited information establishes the perspective options; it does not say that changing perspective alters difficulty.
Where does the story take place?
The story returns to Raccoon City and its aftermath. Grace investigates the Wrenwood Hotel, while the official game page also names a chronic care center. Leon’s investigation concerns deaths in the Midwest, connecting his work to the broader events. Is the game welcoming to newcomers?
Director Nakanishi said the game was designed for newcomers who do not know the Raccoon City Incident or have not played earlier Resident Evil games.
