Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, so the countdown in the original “Drops in 3 Days” headline is no longer current. Here is a spoiler-light rundown of the game’s premise, protagonists, platforms and perspective options.
What is Resident Evil Requiem about?
Capcom’s official synopsis follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and returning agent Leon S. Kennedy as their stories converge around the truth of the Raccoon City Incident. The incident changed the world, and both characters must face their pasts as they pursue answers. Nintendo’s game overview presents this as the central setup without revealing the outcome.

Capcom describes the two protagonists’ experiences as contrasting. That is the publisher’s framing of the dual-protagonist setup, rather than a specific measure of how their sections differ. In a March 22, 2026 statement, Resident Evil Series Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi said: “With the return to Raccoon City, the place where it all began, we combined the two hearts of the series—horror and action—and packed them both into one title.” Capcom’s anniversary page carries the statement. This rundown sticks to the premise and avoids ending revelations. Capcom’s launch announcement also describes the experiences as contrasting.

Grace Ashcroft
Grace is an FBI analyst and one of the game’s two protagonists. Her story is part of the investigation that brings the characters back to the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident, according to Nintendo’s official overview.

Which platforms is Resident Evil Requiem on?
Capcom lists Resident Evil Requiem for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Nintendo also confirms the Switch 2 release. Platform availability does not by itself establish which storefronts or physical and digital formats are offered in a particular region, so check the relevant local listing before purchasing. Can you play in first person or third person?
Yes. Nintendo says both Grace’s and Leon’s stories can be experienced from either first-person or third-person perspective. The available official description does not make one perspective mandatory for either character. See Nintendo’s overview.
What has Capcom said about sales?
Capcom reported more than 6 million units sold worldwide in an announcement dated March 16, 2026. That is a March milestone, not a live October 2026 sales total. Capcom’s announcement reports units sold, not players.
