Leon S. Kennedy is the other playable character in Resident Evil Requiem, joining Grace Ashcroft as the game’s second protagonist. Capcom revealed Leon at The Game Awards 2025; the developers describe a single story that switches between the two, pairing Grace’s scarier sections with Leon’s more action-focused ones.
How the two protagonists fit into the story
Resident Evil Requiem follows one unified narrative, not two separate campaigns. Director Koshi Nakanishi explained: “As the plot advances, you switch between Leon’s sections and Grace’s sections.” The developers also say the characters meet in some scenes.

Their playable portions are described as “almost equally split,” but that is a qualitative description, not a published percentage. The developers have not specified an exact division of playtime.
Grace brings the horror; Leon brings the action

The developers frame that contrast as a deliberate way to shift the player’s tension. Producer Masato Kumazawa put it this way: “After a scary segment, the action feels even more exciting. And after an action segment, the horror feels even more terrifying.”

Platforms and release date
The December 12, 2025 interview lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows as platforms, and gives February 27, 2026 as the release date. That date has passed. Capcom’s August 14, 2026 Capcom Snapshots: Aura post features user-submitted in-game images of both Leon and Grace.
