The October 2026 Warhammer Community reveal names Blood Bowl Star Players Ripper Bolgrot and Fungus the Loon, but its release details could not be confirmed. The available information explains their on-pitch appeal; it does not establish what miniatures, if any, are in the announced release.
Why these two Star Players stand out
Ripper Bolgrot brings unusual reliability for a Troll
Ripper Bolgrot is a Strength 6 Troll Star Player. Warhammer Community’s Goblin tactics article says he does not suffer from Always Hungry or Really Stupid, removing two familiar sources of risk for a Troll. His Thinking Man’s Troll rule grants him one re-roll each half. Warhammer Community

Fungus the Loon can redirect his spin
Fungus is a Goblin Star Player. His Whirling Dervish rule allows a re-roll of the direction he spins in each turn; a rules reference specifies that this re-roll can be used once per activation. The same reference lists his affiliations as Badlands Brawl and Underworld Challenge. Rules reference

The announcement was shared under the title “Ripper Bolgrot and Fungus take to the gridiron.” A Reddit post dated October 12, 2026, confirms the title and points to the Warhammer Community announcement, but the official page returned an internal error when opened. Ripper Bolgrot already had a miniature
A specialist reference documents an earlier Ripper Bolgrot model: a five-component resin miniature released through Forge World in July 2023. That is historical product context only. It does not confirm whether the October 2026 announcement includes a new version, whether the older model remains in stock, or what any newly announced kit contains. Warhammer Community
What the community reaction does—and does not—show
Some Reddit commenters reacted by connecting the reveal to a promised Iron Warriors update or expressing enthusiasm for the “energy” of the announcement. Those are individual reactions, not evidence of a wider player consensus or confirmation that the Blood Bowl reveal is connected to another Warhammer release.
