Grand final: Team BDS vs. The General NRG
The final was a best-of-seven set, not one best-of-seven match. BDS won the first match 4–1, then won the second 4–3 to secure the set. The two scores are separate match results, not a single aggregate score. The event rules specify the set format, and the results records identify BDS as champion: RLCS 2021-22 official rules and Liquipedia results archive.

Event format and field
The Major ran December 8–12, 2021, in Stockholm, Sweden, and featured 16 teams. It concluded the Fall Split. Psyonix described the split’s structure as “a Swiss format that feeds into an eight-team, single-elimination bracket” in its 2021 season format announcement.
Swiss stage
All 16 teams began in Swiss play. A team advanced after three wins and was eliminated after three losses; Swiss matches were best-of-five. The format determines who advanced to the playoff bracket, but does not by itself create a complete 1–16 final ranking for teams eliminated at different points.

Playoffs
The eight teams that survived Swiss play entered a single-elimination bracket. Playoff matches were best-of-seven, and the grand final used a best-of-seven set. Psyonix’s official rules document outlines the competition format: RLCS 2021-22 official rules.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why there is no full 1–16 table here
The available event record names all 16 participants and reports the top four, but it does not establish each remaining team’s precise final placement. A Swiss-stage elimination is not enough to infer a unique finishing order among those teams, so assigning ranks from 5th through 16th would overstate what the results establish.

For historical naming, this article uses Team BDS, the name recorded in contemporary 2021-22 results. BLAST’s current event page has a naming inconsistency, calling the winner “Shifters” in some text while its historical context is the 2021-22 event; the contemporary records identify the champion as Team BDS.
