If you’re playing the updated Chapter 1, Level 8 is labeled “Septic”; older guides may call it “Lights Out.” The names and tactics differ across versions, so use older route advice as a starting point—not a guaranteed walkthrough. Roblox’s Apeirophobia listing warns that the experience is in pre-alpha and content may change.
Check which version of Level 8 you’re playing
UnordinarySir’s full Chapter 1 walkthrough, published January 26, 2026, labels Level 8 “Septic” and begins that segment at 22:13: watch the walkthrough. Older guides use “Lights Out”; a community-maintained level index cross-labels the stage as “Lights Out (Septic)” (level index). If your in-game label or layout differs from an older guide, trust the current game over its route.
How to approach the maze
The older Level Eight guide describes a dark maze and a Skin Stealer that cannot hear players but has heightened vision and can move faster. Those mechanics are historical advice, not confirmed behavior for the updated “Septic” level. The same guide recommends running when possible, using lockers when the entity is nearby, and finding a vent to exit (Pro Game Guides’ older walkthrough).
- Keep moving while the route is clear. Avoid lingering in exposed parts of the maze, especially if you can see a threat.
- Use cover if the entity approaches. In the older version, lockers were the recommended hiding place when the Skin Stealer was near. Use one if the current level provides it and it is safe to do so.
- Watch for the exit cues. The older route ends at a vent. In the current build, follow visible environmental markers and inspect the level for an exit rather than relying on exact turns from an older map.
If the old route doesn’t work
Layouts, entity behavior, and landmarks can change with updates. If the guide’s turns or hiding advice do not match what you see, stop treating it as a fixed route: recheck nearby passages and visible cues, and follow the exit objective presented in your version. Roblox recommends headphones for the experience generally, but they are not established as a Level 8 requirement.
