Roblox Error Code 103 does not have one confirmed cause or universal fix in the official guidance reviewed. For Xbox players—especially children using family accounts—the first checks are whether Xbox privacy settings allow multiplayer and community-created content. Then check account linking, Roblox parental controls, and Microsoft family consent, choosing the steps that fit the exact message and device.
What Roblox Error Code 103 means
The available official support pages do not provide an exhaustive definition of Error Code 103 across devices. A similar Xbox message—“you cannot see content other people make because of how your account is set up”—may point to account permissions, but it is not a formal definition of the code.

Roblox Support explains that “Roblox experiences are created by our community of players and developers, and require access to both online multiplayer experiences and user-created content.” That makes Xbox family permissions a documented avenue to investigate, not proof that those settings explain every Error 103 report. Start with the full message, the device, and whether the account is managed by a parent or family organizer.
How to troubleshoot Error 103 on Xbox
1. Check Xbox family privacy permissions
If the affected player uses a child account on Xbox, ask the family organizer to review that account’s privacy settings. Roblox’s Xbox family-account instructions identify two permissions relevant to Roblox: joining multiplayer experiences and seeing or sharing content. Allow “You can join multiplayer experiences” and set “You can see and share content” to “Everybody,” if that matches the family’s intended settings.

The route and labels can vary with the Xbox interface. Change only the relevant permissions; these settings govern account access and should reflect the parent or organizer’s decision.
2. Check the Xbox and Roblox account relationship
If the message appears during sign-in or account linking, check that the Xbox account’s age matches the Roblox account age. Roblox recommends matching them, says the Xbox app is available for ages 10 and up, and notes that a Roblox account can be linked to only one Xbox Gamer Tag. 3. Review Roblox parental controls
If Xbox permissions already allow multiplayer and community content, check whether Roblox parental controls restrict the experience. Roblox controls include content-maturity settings and the ability to block individual experiences. A blocked or age-inappropriate experience can remain inaccessible even when Xbox privacy permissions are permissive. Review the Roblox Parental Controls Overview and keep the family’s chosen limits in place.

5. Escalate if the relevant access checks do not explain it
If the exact error persists after checking the settings that match the symptom, contact Roblox or Microsoft support. Include the full message, the device, whether the account is a child or adult account, and which permissions or account-linking checks you reviewed. The support pages above do not establish a universal Error 103 repair sequence.
