To reach Exhaust Organ in Hollow Knight: Silksong, use Needolin near the glowing moths in The Mist and follow the direction they fly. Once inside the Organ, activate the bench first, then find the hidden upper-left room for the Flea detour. Phantom is deeper in the area; guides report that defeating the boss stops the Organ and clears The Mist.
How do I get through The Mist in Silksong?
The Mist’s rooms can change layout, so follow the moth cue rather than relying on a fixed sequence of exits. Find the glowing moths, play Needolin near them, and watch where they move. Take the exit in that direction. Choosing a wrong exit or falling into the fog sends you back to the route’s start.

Make the bench your first stop after reaching the Organ. The route guides place it by climbing the left side of the first chamber; PC Gamer describes it as down the corridor and up-left from the arrival point. Rest there before exploring the optional Flea path or challenging Phantom.

Where is the Exhaust Organ Flea?
The Lost Flea is outside the building, on a platform above its entrance. From inside Exhaust Organ, work through the pipes and search the upper-left part of a chamber for a hidden room. That room leads back outside.
- In the hidden room, take the route that opens to the exterior above the entrance.
- Cross the outside platforms to the left.
- Jump over the spikes to reach and rescue the Flea.
Nintendo Life’s Lost Flea guide notes that this route can be reached early when approaching via Sinner’s Road; the Flea can also be collected later.

How do I reach and beat Phantom?
Phantom is in Exhaust Organ, in Bilewater. The area walkthroughs establish the location and report Cross Stitch as the reward. The Silksong Map Phantom entry describes a final Silk Skill prompt in the finishing sequence. Follow the game’s prompt when it appears; the available guides do not provide enough detail to recommend a more specific attack-by-attack strategy.
These encounter and reward details come from community and editorial guides rather than official Team Cherry documentation. For exact prompt behavior, consult the current game build. The Silksong.codes Exhaust Organ walkthrough, dated September 10, 2025, also lists Cross Stitch among the rewards.

What changes after the Phantom fight?
Guide accounts report that defeating Phantom shuts down the Exhaust Organ, silences its steam vents, and dissipates The Mist. They also report that an upward lift opens toward Choral Chambers. This makes the boss fight both the area’s major encounter and the progression point that clears the route. The aftermath is reported by Silksong Map and Silksong.codes.

No. The guides describe Exhaust Organ through The Mist as an alternate Act 1 route; they also identify a route through Blasted Steps.
