Roblox Error Code 773 is not covered by a single guaranteed fix. It usually appears when Roblox cannot complete a teleport to another place, server, private server, or restricted destination. Start by checking whether the problem affects one experience or many, then verify Roblox’s service status and the destination’s access rules before changing your app or network.
Roblox Error Code 773 does not have one guaranteed “100% working” fix. It usually appears when Roblox cannot complete a teleport to another place, server, private server, or restricted destination. The quickest solution is to determine whether the problem affects one experience or many, check Roblox’s service status, verify that you can access the destination, and only then troubleshoot the Roblox app or your network.

Reinstalling Roblox may help when local files are damaged, but it cannot grant permission to enter a private place, repair an incorrect PlaceId, or make an unavailable server accessible.

Roblox experiences can contain multiple places. A portal, button, matchmaking system, or scripted event may use Roblox’s TeleportService to move you from the current server to another place or server. Error 773 generally means that this transfer could not be completed.
#1 Best Overall
- Easy Plug and play setup.
- Compatible with any game system utilizing a 9 pin sega style connection.
- Excellent playability and response time.
- Sturdy construction and design
- Four Button design improves playability over original style game controllers.
The destination may be:
- A private server or reserved server you are not allowed to join
- A restricted place within an experience
- An unpublished, closed, moderated, or otherwise unavailable place
- A place identified by an incorrect or outdated PlaceId
- A valid destination that was interrupted by a temporary Roblox, app, firewall, or network problem
In other words, Error 773 is a symptom, not proof that your account is banned. It also does not automatically mean your internet connection is broken.
First diagnosis: does it happen in one experience or everywhere?
| What you observe | Most likely area to investigate |
|---|---|
| Error 773 appears in one experience or at one portal | The destination, private-server permissions, PlaceId, or the experience’s teleport configuration |
| Error 773 appears in several unrelated experiences | Roblox service health, the app, browser, firewall, router, or network |
| Your friends can enter, but your account cannot | Account permissions, age or safety restrictions, private-server membership, or destination access |
| Everyone gets the error in the same experience | The experience’s destination or developer-side TeleportService configuration |
This distinction prevents wasted effort. If only one portal fails, repeatedly reinstalling Roblox is unlikely to help. If every experience fails, a developer cannot usually fix the problem for your individual client, so local and service-status checks become more important.
How to fix Error Code 773 as a player
1. Leave the experience and retry once
Close the current Roblox session completely, wait a short time, and join again. If possible, try a different public server rather than immediately using the same server or portal.
- Exit the experience.
- Close the Roblox application or browser tab.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds.
- Open Roblox again and rejoin.
- If the experience offers a server list, try another server.
This can clear a stale session or temporary teleport failure, but it is not a universal fix.
2. Check whether Roblox is having an outage
Before changing account settings, deleting files, or buying networking equipment, check the official Roblox Status page. An incident affecting joining, game servers, or the platform can make teleports fail even when your device is working normally.
If Roblox reports degraded service or maintenance:
- Do not repeatedly reinstall the application.
- Wait for the incident to be resolved.
- Retry the experience after the status page returns to normal.
3. Open the destination directly
If Error 773 occurs after entering a portal or pressing a teleport button, try opening the target experience directly from its Roblox page. This test separates an inaccessible destination from a broken in-game teleport.
- Direct joining also fails: the destination may be private, restricted, unavailable, under review, or closed to your account.
- Direct joining works but the portal fails: the experience’s teleport logic, target PlaceId, server selection, or destination configuration is more likely to be responsible.
Do not assume that every place inside an experience has the same access rules as its starting place. A creator can configure access to individual places and can limit how players enter non-start places.

If the destination is a private or reserved server, confirm that the affected account is actually permitted to join it. Check whether:
- You are on the private server’s allowed-player list.
- The server owner has shared access with the correct account.
- The private server is still active and has not been closed or restricted.
- The account’s privacy, age, parental-control, or safety settings prevent access.
- You are signed into the intended Roblox account on the device.
Player-facing menu names can vary by account type, region, and Roblox UI updates, so avoid relying on an old screenshot or an exact privacy-menu path. The important check is whether the account is authorized to enter the target experience or server. If friends can join but one account cannot, permissions are a stronger suspect than damaged installation files.
5. Test the Roblox app, browser, and network
If Error 773 affects several experiences, follow Roblox’s general connection troubleshooting guidance. Work through these checks:

Try the supported Roblox access method
On a computer, try joining through a current supported browser or the current Roblox Windows application. If the browser fails but the application works, the browser installation, extensions, or cached site data may be involved. If both fail, continue with the network and firewall checks.
Temporarily test without browser extensions
Ad blockers, privacy extensions, script blockers, and aggressive security extensions can interfere with sign-in or the handoff from a Roblox webpage to the client. Test in a private window or with nonessential extensions disabled. Re-enable extensions afterward and identify the conflicting extension instead of leaving security protections disabled permanently.
Check firewall and security software
Firewall or endpoint-security rules can block Roblox traffic or the application’s connection to its services. Review whether Roblox is allowed through the firewall and whether security software has recently quarantined or restricted it.
Do not permanently disable antivirus protection or the firewall as a “fix.” If a security product is the suspected cause, use its notification logs and allow-list controls, or ask the product’s support team for a safe rule.
Compare networks
Test the same account and device on another trusted network, such as a phone hotspot. Also check whether other online services work reliably on the original connection.
- Roblox works on another network: investigate the original router, Wi-Fi, ISP, DNS filtering, firewall, or managed-network restrictions.
- Roblox fails on multiple networks: the account, Roblox service, application, or destination is more likely than the Wi-Fi connection.
VPN and DNS changes are not universal Error 773 solutions. They can be used cautiously as diagnostic isolation steps, but changing them will not grant access to a restricted place. Avoid weakening security or routing traffic through an untrusted service simply because a guide lists it as a guaranteed fix.
6. Restart the router only when the evidence points to the network
A router restart can help with a temporary connection problem, but it is not a remedy for private-server permissions or an invalid teleport destination.
- Stop Roblox on the affected device.
- Restart the router using its normal power or restart procedure.
- Wait for the connection to return fully.
- Test another online service, then try Roblox again.
If multiple devices and services fail on the same connection, contact the ISP or network administrator. If only one Roblox destination fails, return to the destination-access checks instead.
7. Reinstall Roblox only after the earlier checks
Use reinstalling as a later step when the application may have damaged or missing local files. Roblox’s official reinstall guidance recommends restarting first and explains that reinstalling replaces broken or deleted files.

- Restart the computer.
- Uninstall Roblox through Windows’ installed-apps or apps-and-features settings.
- Restart again if a full uninstall is required or Roblox continues to behave incorrectly.
- Download and install Roblox again from the official Roblox website or the appropriate official app store.
- Sign in and test both the affected experience and another experience.
Reinstalling can repair client files. It cannot repair an incorrect PlaceId, a closed experience, a reserved-server access code, a creator’s access-control setting, or an account that is not authorized to enter the destination. If the error returns immediately in one experience, stop repeating the reinstall and contact the experience creator or Roblox Support.

Optional Windows diagnostics for broader computer problems
If Error 773 appears alongside widespread Windows symptoms—such as browser instability, unusual slowdowns, damaged temporary files, or problems affecting several applications—an optional Windows diagnostics tool such as Outbyte PC Repair may be relevant for general system troubleshooting.
That is a limited use case. It should not be treated as a fix for Roblox teleport permissions, private-server access, Roblox outages, or a developer’s invalid destination. Its own product information describes general diagnostics, temporary-file cleanup, privacy features, vulnerability checks, and performance optimization; application-specific failures may still require the application vendor’s support. Do not purchase a system utility solely to fix Error 773.

If the error occurs only in your experience—or many players report it at the same portal—inspect the teleport implementation and destination settings rather than telling every player to reinstall Roblox.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Verify the target PlaceId
Confirm that the target PlaceId is correct and that the place belongs to the intended experience or universe. An outdated, mistyped, or unrelated PlaceId can send players to a destination they cannot access.
Review place access controls
In Creator Dashboard, review the experience’s access settings, including Access Control for Places and any place-level Direct Access Control overrides. Confirm that the intended design allows:
- Fully open access
- Access only within the same universe
- Secure server-initiated teleports
The correct choice depends on the experience. A restricted destination is not necessarily misconfigured, but players must be sent there only when they satisfy the intended access conditions.
Use server-side teleporting for new implementations
For new work, follow Roblox’s current TeleportService guidance and use server-side TeleportAsync where appropriate. Server-side teleporting helps reduce opportunities for client-side exploits and keeps destination decisions under server control.
Handle failures explicitly
Teleport attempts can fail before the player leaves the current server. Wrap teleport calls in protected calls and listen for TeleportInitFailed. Roblox provides retry-related information through that event, which lets a developer report a useful failure or retry safely instead of leaving the player with no explanation.
local TeleportService = game:GetService("TeleportService")
local success, result = pcall(function()
return TeleportService:TeleportAsync(targetPlaceId, players)
end)
if not success then
warn("Teleport request failed:", result)
end
TeleportService.TeleportInitFailed:Connect(function(player, teleportResult, errorMessage)
warn(player.Name, teleportResult, errorMessage)
end)
The exact retry design should account for the failure reason and avoid creating an uncontrolled retry loop. Validate the player list, destination, and server state before trying again.
Validate reserved-server data
When using reserved or targeted servers, check that the access code, private-server identifier, and destination PlaceId belong together and are still valid. A stale or invalid server identifier can fail even when the starting place is working.
Test published content in the Roblox client
Do not rely only on Roblox Studio playtesting for teleports. Roblox documents that TeleportService does not support Studio playtesting in the same way as a published client session. Publish the relevant places and test the complete flow in the Roblox client with the intended access settings.

Audit unexpected teleport code
If players are being teleported without an intentional feature, search the experience for unauthorized scripts, free models, or malicious code that calls TeleportService. This is community-reported diagnostic advice rather than an official definition of Error 773, but an unexpected teleport destination is a valid reason to audit recently added assets and scripts.
When to contact Roblox Support
Contact Roblox Support when the error continues across multiple experiences and networks, the official status page is normal, and app troubleshooting has not helped. Also contact support when the account appears to be incorrectly blocked from destinations it should be able to access.
Include enough information for the problem to be reproduced:
- Roblox username—not your password
- Device model and operating-system version
- Whether you use the browser or Roblox application
- The exact error text and code
- The experience and, if known, the destination place or portal
- Whether the error happens in one experience or several
- Whether other accounts or friends can enter
- Reproduction steps, including what you clicked immediately before the error
- Results of testing another network or device
If only one experience is affected, also report the issue to that experience’s creator. The creator may need to correct a PlaceId, publish a destination, change access controls, repair reserved-server handling, or remove an unauthorized teleport script.

Does Roblox Error Code 773 mean I am banned?
No. Error 773 has multiple possible causes. It can result from a restricted or unavailable destination, private-server permissions, an incorrect PlaceId, a Roblox service incident, or a local app or network problem.
Can reinstalling Roblox fix Error 773?
Yes, if the experience can be opened directly and you have permission to enter it. If direct access works but an in-game portal fails, the portal’s teleport logic or destination configuration is more likely to be the problem.
How do I know whether Error 773 is caused by the game or my device?
Test the destination directly from its Roblox page. If direct joining also fails, check private-server membership, account restrictions, and whether the place is available. If direct joining works, report the broken portal to the experience creator.
Will changing my VPN or DNS fix Roblox Error 773?
No. VPN and DNS changes may help isolate a routing or filtering problem, but they cannot grant access to a restricted destination and are not universal Error 773 fixes.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Error 773 usually means Roblox could not complete a teleport or could not authorize the destination. Check Roblox Status, retry, test the destination directly, verify private-server and account access, and then troubleshoot the app, firewall, and network. If the error is limited to one experience, the creator’s destination or TeleportService configuration is the leading suspect; if it affects many experiences, follow Roblox’s connection and reinstall guidance before contacting Support.
