Roblox does not have a separate hair-code system for avatar items. What players commonly call a “hair code” is the item’s Asset ID—the number in its Roblox catalog URL. For the four styles covered here, the IDs are 62234425 for Brown Hair, 16630147 for Beautiful Hair for Beautiful People, 451220849 for Lavender Updo, and 451221329 for True Blue Hair.
The catalog pages and browser instructions below were checked against Roblox pages available on August 7, 2026. That is a later verification than February 2026, so it confirms the pages currently resolve but does not prove that every item was available or unchanged throughout February.

For example, the number in https://www.roblox.com/catalog/62234425/Brown-Hair is the item’s Asset ID. Roblox’s own browser customization instructions use this terminology rather than “hair code.”
How to equip a hair item on the Roblox website
- Open the Roblox website and sign in.
- Select Avatar from the navigation menu.
- On the Avatar Editor page, open an available pull-down menu.
- Select the hair category.
- Scroll to the desired item.
- Select the item’s icon. Roblox highlights the selected item when it is equipped.
This is the supported website workflow. You do not need to enter a chat command or a special catalog command to wear one of these items.

How to apply a hair Asset ID through Advanced
If you need to add more items than the Avatar Editor’s normal soft limit allows, select Advanced in the lower-right corner of the Avatar Editor. Roblox’s support instructions say that this interface accepts Asset IDs taken from item links, with a documented maximum of 10 items through this method.
Use the numeric portion of the catalog URL—for example, 62234425—as the Asset ID. Advanced is an Avatar Editor feature, not a chat or in-game code entry box.

How to remove Roblox hair
- Open the Avatar Editor.
- Select Recent, or open the relevant category such as hair.
- Look near the beginning of Recent for currently worn items.
- Select the highlighted hair icon to remove it.
If the avatar preview does not update
Roblox documents that an avatar can display incorrectly after an item is added or removed. If the preview is stale or incorrect, select the Redraw link underneath the avatar picture.
Roblox Studio developers: do not confuse Asset IDs with catalog APIs
These IDs are for identifying catalog items in the Roblox Avatar Editor. They are not instructions for building an in-experience avatar editor.

For Roblox Studio development, Roblox marks AvatarEditorService:SearchCatalog() as deprecated and identifies AvatarEditorService:SearchCatalogAsync(searchParameters) as the current method. Roblox likewise identifies GetRecommendedBundlesAsync() as the replacement for the deprecated GetRecommendedBundles(). Those APIs are relevant to developer-built avatar editors inside experiences, not to entering a hair ID on the Roblox website. See Roblox’s AvatarEditorService documentation.
