Roblox’s November 1, 2021 service-restoration announcement did not immediately resolve every player’s login problem. After the outage that began on October 28, some players reported being unable to complete login, getting stuck on the security page, or encountering problems with 2-step verification. Roblox had restored the main platform infrastructure, but that did not necessarily clear stale sessions, cached browser data, delayed verification emails, or account-specific authentication problems.
This is a historical explanation of the 2021 incident, not a report of a current Roblox outage. For present-day availability, check the official Roblox status page.

What happened during the Roblox outage?
The extended Roblox outage began on Thursday, October 28, 2021. In its November 1 update, Roblox said a core system had become overwhelmed and that a subtle bug affected communication between services under heavy load. The company said it used performance tuning, reconfiguration, and load reduction to restore the platform.
Roblox said its services had been fully restored by the afternoon of November 1. It also said it had no knowledge of player persistence data being lost. That statement addressed the platform-wide infrastructure incident; it did not guarantee that every browser session, login token, verification email, or security flow would immediately work for every player.

Why could some players still not log in?
Contemporaneous reports described players who could not complete login, were stuck on the security page, or could not use the 2-step-verification page. Those reports came from affected users and secondary coverage, so they should not be treated as proof that every Roblox account or authentication system was still down.
Several explanations were possible:
- Residual authentication problems: A restored platform can still leave failed login handoffs, expired sessions, or partially recovered authentication flows.
- 2-step-verification issues: Verification emails may be delayed or filtered, the security page may fail to load, or an old code may be rejected.
- Stale browser data: Cookies and cached files can preserve a broken or incomplete login state.
- Browser extensions: Ad blockers, privacy tools, and script blockers can interfere with login pages and buttons.
- Device or network problems: Login may work on a phone but fail in a desktop browser, or work over mobile data but fail on home Wi-Fi.
- Account-specific problems: An incorrect password, a compromised account, or a moderation action can look like an outage but require a different response.
Roblox’s general website troubleshooting guide specifically covers failed logins, pages that do not load, non-working buttons, cookies, temporary files, and browser add-ons.
What affected players could try
1. Check Roblox’s official status information
Check the Roblox status page for an active incident involving the website, mobile app, authentication, or related services. Roblox also recommends checking its official communication channels during outages. The current status page cannot establish what was happening on November 1, 2021; it reflects present-day operational data.

2. Start a fresh login session
- Close Roblox and the browser.
- Open a private or incognito browser window.
- Type the official Roblox address directly instead of using a third-party login or verification link.
- Try one supported browser.
Avoid repeatedly submitting credentials when the site is returning errors. Repeated attempts can create additional verification or rate-limit complications.
3. Clear Roblox cookies and cached files
Roblox recommends clearing temporary internet files and cookies, restarting the computer, and trying again. This can resolve a locally stored broken session after an outage.
Clearing cookies normally signs you out of the website and removes some saved preferences, but it does not delete the Roblox account or game progress. It also cannot repair a server-side authentication failure.

4. Temporarily disable browser extensions
Disable ad blockers, privacy extensions, script blockers, and other add-ons, then retry the login. Roblox recommends re-enabling extensions one at a time afterward to identify one that interferes with the site.

For email verification:
- Confirm that the code is being sent to the email address associated with the Roblox account.
- Check spam, junk, promotions, and other filtered folders.
- Add
[email protected]to your contacts. - Choose Resend Code or Start Over.
- Use another previously configured verification method if one is available.
According to Roblox’s 2-step-verification guidance, email codes expire after 15 minutes and may stop working after an incorrect attempt. Requesting a fresh code is safer than repeatedly entering an old one. Authenticator-app codes are time-sensitive as well, so use the currently displayed code.
6. Compare another device or network
Try the official Roblox website or app on another device, and compare home Wi-Fi with mobile data where practical. This is a diagnostic step, not a guaranteed fix.

Changing DNS or using a VPN was not an official Roblox fix for this incident. A VPN can also change the apparent login location and create additional security checks.
7. Contact Roblox Support
If login still fails across multiple devices or networks, use the official Roblox support form. Include your username, the exact error message, the affected webpage, device model, operating-system version, steps that reproduce the problem, and any recent changes to the device or internet connection. Roblox’s website-issues guide provides similar information for support requests.
When the problem may not be the outage
Stop treating the issue as an ordinary browser glitch if the password suddenly stops working, the recovery email or phone details have changed, the account shows unfamiliar activity, or login fails everywhere while other accounts work normally on the same device.

Those signs can indicate an account compromise or another account-specific issue. Use only official Roblox recovery and support pages. Never enter credentials into a “free Robux,” third-party verification, or account-repair website, and do not download an unofficial launcher or login-repair utility.
The key distinction
Roblox restoring its core services and an individual player regaining access were separate events. The November 1, 2021 announcement meant that the broad infrastructure failure had been addressed. It did not prove that every cached session, security page, verification email, device, network, or account was immediately healthy.
For a local website problem, a fresh session, cleared cookies, or disabled extension could help. For an expired 2-step code, the correct response was to request a new one. For an account-specific failure or signs of compromise, repeated password attempts and unofficial fixes were the wrong approach: Roblox Support was the appropriate next step.
