There was no confirmed global Township outage in the sources checked on August 18, 2026. A loading-screen freeze, black screen, immediate crash, or “update required” message is more often caused by an incomplete update, corrupted temporary files, low storage or memory, an outdated device, a connection problem, or a platform-specific bug. That does not prove every Playrix server is working; it means a broad outage was not confirmed.

Start with the low-risk checks below. Do not clear Android app data or reinstall until you have considered whether your town has synchronized online.

First, determine whether Township is down for everyone

A single device failing is not evidence of a global outage. To separate a service problem from a local one:

  • Ask friends or co-op members whether Township is also failing for them.
  • Try both Wi-Fi and mobile data. If possible, test another Wi-Fi network.
  • Check Playrix’s Township troubleshooting pages and official social channels for an announcement.
  • Look at the official App Store or Google Play listing for a newly released update or a sudden cluster of recent crash reports.

If the game fails on multiple devices and networks at the same time, or other players report the same new problem, wait before repeatedly reinstalling. A bad update or server-side failure may be responsible.

Safe first-aid fixes

  1. Close Township completely, then open it again.
  2. Restart the phone, tablet, Mac, or Windows PC.
  3. Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or from mobile data to Wi-Fi.
  4. Check the relevant app store for a Township update.
  5. Install any available iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS, or Windows update.
  6. Check free storage and aim to keep more than the formal 1 GB minimum available.
  7. Open Township again.

Playrix recommends restarting the device, updating the game and device software, reinstalling when necessary, and checking the system requirements in its troubleshooting guidance.

Update Township manually

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon.
  3. Pull down to refresh available updates.
  4. Search for Township directly if it is not listed.
  5. Tap Update if the button appears.

Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for Township.
  3. Open the official Playrix listing.
  4. Tap Update if available.

If Township says an update is required while Google Play shows only Open, refresh the store page, restart the device, and check again later. Confirm that the correct Google account or Apple ID is being used, and check that the device meets the minimum operating-system requirement. Playrix says updates can reach different platforms several days apart, so an update may be available on iOS before Android, or the reverse.

Windows

  1. Open Microsoft Store.
  2. Open its downloads or updates page.
  3. Choose Get updates, or the equivalent control shown by your version of the Store.
  4. Search for Township and update it manually if necessary.

Do not install an APK or modified game package from an unofficial website.

Android: clear Township’s cache

If Township reaches the loading screen and then closes, try clearing temporary files:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Apps & notifications.
  3. Select Township.
  4. Tap Force stop.
  5. Open Storage.
  6. Tap Clear cache.
  7. Restart the device and try the game again.

Labels vary by Android manufacturer. Choose Clear cache, not Clear storage or Clear data, as the first step. Clearing data can remove local settings or an unsynchronized session.

iPhone and iPad: check the basics before deleting the app

  1. Force-close Township.
  2. Restart the iPhone or iPad.
  3. Check the App Store for Township updates.
  4. Install any available iOS or iPadOS update.
  5. Check available storage.

The U.S. App Store listing says Township requires iOS 13.0 or later and iPadOS 13.0 or later. Store requirements and availability can vary by region.

Reinstalling Township without risking your town

Playrix says progress should not be lost when Township is deleted and downloaded again provided the device is connected to the internet. This is not an unconditional guarantee for a town that never synchronized or data stored only on the device.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before reinstalling:

  • Connect to a stable internet connection and avoid doing this while offline.
  • If the game opens on another device, confirm that the town is connected to the supported account or synchronization service.
  • Record your player name, town level, friend code, device model, and approximate last-played time.
  • Keep purchase receipts if you have spent money in the game.
  • Do not create or overwrite a new town if Township displays an account-selection prompt.

Reinstalling is useful for damaged files or an incomplete update, but it is not the first step when several players are experiencing the same failure.

Check requirements, storage, and memory

Playrix lists these minimum requirements:

Requirement Minimum
RAM 1 GB
iPhone or iPad software iOS/iPadOS 13.0 or later
Android software Android 5.0 or later
Free storage At least 1 GB

See Playrix’s current system-requirements page for the official list. Minimum requirements are not a promise of smooth performance. An older device may still crash because of background apps, memory pressure, heat, graphics-driver issues, or a lack of additional working space.

Nintendo Wii Console, White Premium Bundle (Renewed)
  • Controllers are original OEM (not 3rd party)
  • Tested and works well. Nice condition

Windows, Mac, and emulator problems

Township has separate Windows and macOS versions. According to Playrix, Windows progress does not transfer to the mobile or macOS versions, while progress can synchronize between iOS, Android, and macOS under the supported conditions.

Playrix does not support running the mobile version through an emulator. An emulator, Google Play Games for PC, or a third-party Windows wrapper can introduce graphics, authentication, and compatibility problems. If Township works on a phone but crashes in an emulator, treat the emulator as the likely cause rather than assuming the game is globally down. Playrix may not provide support for emulator-related failures. See its computer and emulator guidance.

Use the symptom to choose the next step

  • Nothing happens when you tap the icon: restart the device, update the operating system and game, and check storage.
  • The Playrix logo appears, then Township closes: update the game, clear the Android cache if applicable, close background apps, and consider reinstalling while online.
  • The loading bar or spinner never finishes: test another network and check whether other players are affected.
  • Black screen: restart, update the operating system, check storage, and avoid unsupported emulators.
  • The town appears, but the game freezes: close other apps, check memory and heat, update Township, and test again after a restart.
  • Offline play works but events, competitions, or co-op do not: the problem may be connection or server authentication. Township supports some offline functions, while competitions and additional features require an internet connection.
  • It works on one platform but not another: check the platform’s separate version, update channel, requirements, and account-synchronization rules.

When to stop troubleshooting and contact Playrix

Contact support rather than endlessly reinstalling if:

  • Township fails on multiple devices and networks.
  • Other players report the same loading-screen crash at the same time.
  • The failure began immediately after an update.
  • Reinstallation fails across more than one compatible device.
  • You see an account or server error rather than a simple local crash.
  • Only online features fail while offline town functions still work.

Include your device model, operating-system version, Township version if visible, exact symptom, approximate start time, network used, player name, town level, and friend code. Include screenshots or a video when possible. Playrix provides web chat and support instructions for cases where the game will not load; it does not provide phone support.
