It is an editorial ranking—not an official developer list or a controlled performance test—so use it as a starting point and choose by role, range, support needs, and preferred difficulty.
What is the Rune Slayer class tier list?
The following placements come from MobileMatters’ guide, “Rune Slayer Class Tier List (August 2026): The Best Class To Play As”. The publisher says it considers DPS, utility, support capability, and ease of learning and playing. It does not publish measured damage figures, controlled comparisons, or separate PvE and PvP rankings.
| Tier | Classes in the guide | What the guide says |
|---|---|---|
| S | Thief, Ranger, Priest | Thief and Ranger are presented as strong damage dealers. Priest is described as an all-rounder with healing, support, and offensive abilities. |
| A | Magician, Warrior | Warrior is described as tanky and capable of sustained damage. The guide places Magician in A tier without supplying a comparable measured statistic. |
| B | Striker | The guide describes Striker as difficult to use and better suited to skilled players than newcomers. |
Which class should you play in Rune Slayer?
Choose based on how you want to fight rather than treating the tier label as a guarantee of results. MobileMatters recommends Ranger for reliable long-range attacks and its Beast Tamer specialization, Thief for close combat, and Priest for a mix of healing, support, and offense.
- Prefer ranged attacks: The guide’s recommendation is Ranger, but its class heading uses Archer. It is unclear from the guide whether “Ranger” is a specialization, alternate name, or an inconsistency; confirm the in-game class label before choosing.
- Prefer close combat: Thief is the guide’s close-combat recommendation and is placed in S tier.
- Want healing alongside damage: Priest is the guide’s all-rounder recommendation, with support and offensive abilities.
- Value durability and sustained damage: Warrior is described as tanky and is placed in A tier.
- Are comfortable with a harder class: Striker is placed in B tier because the guide considers it difficult to use, especially for newcomers.
Is Ranger or Thief better?
In this guide, both are S-tier options, but they serve different preferences: Ranger is recommended for long-range attacks, while Thief is recommended for close combat. The guide does not provide a direct head-to-head test or establish that one outperforms the other in every mode. Pick the one whose fighting distance and approach suit you.

Does this list match Rune Slayer’s current class roster?
Not conclusively. The MobileMatters guide lists six base classes—Warrior, Archer, Magician, Striker, Thief, and Priest—while calling Archer “Ranger” in its recommendation. Community-maintained sources conflict: one describes six base classes, while another lists seven and includes Samurai with Orochi as its subclass. A community update-log result also reports Samurai and Orochi. Those sources do not establish the exact live roster or version, so the discrepancy should not be treated as an official confirmation of either list.
Community update information also notes class balance changes and points players to the game’s Discord for the real-time update log. The available summary does not verify which changes are currently active or provide enough detail to recalculate the rankings. Check in-game class availability and current announcements if you are making a decision based on a recent update.

How much should you trust the tier placements?
Use them as a qualitative recommendation, not a universal answer. MobileMatters explains its criteria, but supplies no controlled DPS measurements, sample size, or mode-specific rankings. The source material does not establish a single best class for all players, nor does it show that these placements apply equally to PvE and PvP. A class’s fit for your preferred range, team role, difficulty, and mode matters more than a tier label alone.
