What Rockstar announced
Take-Two Interactive Software’s March 3, 2025 release said Rockstar Games would acquire Video Games Deluxe, a development studio based in Sydney, Australia. It also said the studio would take the name Rockstar Australia. The announcement did not disclose a purchase price or detailed transaction terms. Read Take-Two’s official announcement.
Why the studio is joining Rockstar
The release frames the acquisition around an established collaboration. Video Games Deluxe had worked with Rockstar on the 2017 re-releases of L.A. Noire and L.A. Rockstar Games Head of Publishing Jennifer Kolbe said: “After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia.”
