That figure is not 151 native rendered frames per second, and the report identifies the handheld as a ROG Ally X; whether it was the ROG Xbox Ally X named in some coverage is not conclusively established.
What the 151 FPS result actually measures
GameGPU reported the result on October 11, 2026, attributing the setup to an enthusiast test. In Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.31, the built-in benchmark processed 9,688 frames over 64.26 seconds. The reported average was 150.77 FPS, with a minimum of 101.67 FPS and a maximum of 192.57 FPS. These are figures from that reported run, not a controlled comparison or a population-wide performance estimate. GameGPU’s report gives the test details.

Settings and display
- Resolution: 3440×1440 on an external monitor.
- Ray tracing: reflections and shadows enabled.
- Lighting: Ultra, without path tracing.
- Upscaling: AMD FSR resolution scaling in automatic mode, with sharpness set to 0.50.
- Frame generation: AMD FSR 3.1.
- Software listed: Windows 11 Home and Radeon Software 26.5.1.
Because frame generation contributes generated frames to the displayed output, the 150.77 FPS figure should not be read as the rate of native rendered frames. A generated-frame count also does not, by itself, establish input responsiveness or image quality.

The GameGPU account calls the handheld a ROG Ally X. The linked Reddit post uses the wording “xbox rog ally x,” but it does not supply the benchmark method or an FPS result; GameGPU attributes the numerical claim to the enthusiast test. The available reporting therefore does not conclusively verify that the device was the ROG Xbox Ally X rather than the ROG Ally X. The distinction matters: Windows Central’s review identifies the ROG Xbox Ally X as having a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, a 120 Hz display, and USB4 Type-C connectivity, but those specifications do not authenticate the device used for this eGPU result. Windows Central’s review covers that model and separate built-in-graphics testing; it is not a test of the RX 9070 XT setup. The original post is available on Reddit.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How it compares with another RX 9070 XT eGPU report
Notebookcheck reported a separate test of an RX 9070 XT eGPU connected to a ROG Ally X over USB4. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p Ultra with FSR 4 Quality, it described typical performance of 60–70 FPS, with dips below 50 FPS. With frame generation enabled, the reported average rose to around 120 FPS, but results fluctuated from 99 to 150 FPS. The report was published September 16, 2025 and updated October 5, 2026. Notebookcheck’s test uses different settings and a separate configuration, so its numbers are not a direct contradiction of GameGPU’s 150.77 FPS result.
Notebookcheck says its eGPU setup used a Gtbox G-Dock supporting OCuLink and USB4. That dock is not confirmed as part of the 151 FPS setup. The same article found a more stable result with OCuLink on a Minisforum mini PC than with USB4 on the Ally X, and notes that external-link bandwidth can constrain performance relative to a direct desktop PCIe connection. Those findings describe the configurations in that report; they do not establish that every OCuLink setup will outperform every USB4 setup.

What to take from the headline
- It is a reported individual result: GameGPU’s account is the source for the 150.77 FPS average and its minimum and maximum figures.
- Frame generation is part of the number: the run used FSR 3.1 frame generation, so 151 FPS is not a claim of 151 native rendered FPS.
- The exact handheld identity remains uncertain: GameGPU says ROG Ally X, while the linked post’s phrasing does not conclusively establish the ROG Xbox Ally X model.
- The result depends on its setup: resolution, ray-tracing settings, FSR mode, game version, software and benchmark method all shape the figure; another eGPU report used a different connection and settings.
- The dock is unconfirmed: GameGPU does not name the dock used for the 151 FPS run.
