Complete Rune Mysteries, collect two Bandosian amulets—one from either the Outlook Ruins or Adventurer’s Guild and one from a garou druid in the lower Whispering Swamp—and return both to Zanik in Bramblemead Valley to finish Goblin Diplomacy and receive the goblin war banner. The Outlook Ruins are the simpler first stop; the guild route requires a logging axe and level 20 Woodcutting to cut through thorny vines.
How to start Goblin Diplomacy
Complete Rune Mysteries first. The straightforward way to begin is to speak with Zanik, who stands on a ridge in Bramblemead Valley overlooking Whispering Swamp. You can also encounter the quest by finding an amulet first, according to walkthroughs; if your sequence differs, check the quest journal for the active objective.
Zanik is also where you turn in the amulets, so placing a lodestone nearby can make the return trip more convenient.
Choose where to find the first amulet
Search the reliquary at either the Outlook Ruins or the Adventurer’s Guild to obtain the first Bandosian amulet. You only need one from these opening locations; the other amulet comes later from the garou druid.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Location | Access | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Outlook Ruins | Search the reliquary in a corner of the ruins; no Woodcutting requirement is reported. | The lower-friction option if you want to avoid a skill and tool gate. |
| Adventurer’s Guild | The reliquary is behind thorny vines. Cutting through requires a logging axe and level 20 Woodcutting. | A valid alternative if you already meet both requirements. Guides describe more goblins at this site. |
The guild requirement applies only to that route. If you lack the axe or Woodcutting level, take the first amulet from the Outlook Ruins instead.

Visit the other site and question its goblin
After looting one reliquary, go to the other location. Clear nearby enemies, then speak with the caged goblin there: Bilegut at the ruins or Wormelbow at the guild. A steak is optional; offering one can prompt the goblin to point out the local reliquary, but it is not needed to complete the quest.
Find the second amulet in Whispering Swamp
Follow the clue to Whispering Swamp and descend to the bottom of the area before searching for the cave. Its entrance is below the upper ground, so looking around from above can make it easy to miss.

Prepare for the garou druid
The garou druid guards the second Bandosian amulet and can inflict poison. Walkthroughs recommend ranged or magic attacks, dodging its poison thorns, and bringing food or other healing plus poison protection. One 2026 guide lists the druid as level 3; the available guides do not establish a mandatory weapon, armour set, or player-stat threshold.
Defeat the druid and take the amulet
Fight the garou druid in the cave. Once it is defeated, collect the second amulet it guards. If poison or the thorn attacks are making the fight difficult, focus on avoiding the hazards and use healing supplies rather than assuming a particular equipment setup is required.
Return both amulets to Zanik
Go back to Zanik on the Bramblemead Valley ridge and hand over both Bandosian amulets. This completes Goblin Diplomacy and awards the goblin war banner. PC Gamer’s 2025 guide lists the banner’s bonuses as +2 melee defence, +2 magic defence, and +2 ranged defence.
