Rusty’s Retirement is a single-player idle farming game designed to run along the bottom of your desktop while you work, with a vertical layout available for the side of the screen. You grow crops, turn them into biofuel, sell it to expand the farm, and automate planting, watering, and harvesting with helper robots. It is listed for Windows and macOS on Steam.
What you do in Rusty’s Retirement
Developed and published by Mister Morris Games, Rusty’s Retirement launched on Steam on April 26, 2024. It is a casual, single-player farming simulator with an incremental loop: grow crops, unlock more varieties, convert harvests into biofuel, sell the fuel, and reinvest the proceeds in a larger farm. Helper robots can take on planting, watering, and harvesting, and can be customized and upgraded.
The game is built to share screen space with other work rather than demand a full-screen session. Steam describes it as an idle-farming simulator designed to sit at the bottom of the screen while you handle other tasks. You can also use a vertical arrangement along a screen edge, zoom the view, or adjust taskbar or sidebar values to reposition the game window. How Focus Mode works
Focus Mode slows plant and berry growth so the farm needs less frequent attention. The pinned FAQ says crops take twice as long to grow in this mode, giving you more time between checks. That is a change to the pace of production, not an indication that the game stops running while you do other tasks.

Save files and choosing a farm layout
The pinned FAQ recommends saving often and making occasional backups because an unexpected crash could corrupt a save. It gives Windows and macOS save-folder locations for those who want to back up files manually. It also says you cannot change the layout within an existing save: to use another layout, start a separate save.
