In the video, Reynolds appears in a lab coat and glasses, evoking Doogie Howser, M.D., the medical comedy that helped make Harris famous. Robyn Lively also appears in the sketch. The Independent reported that Reynolds posted it hours after the game’s trailer was released on June 9, 2025.
The joke treats the casting as if someone had stolen Reynolds’s signature role. In the sketch, Reynolds says, “People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all,” before adding that Harris is “an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel.” Those lines are part of the parody, not a literal account of a casting dispute, as The Independent reported on June 9, 2025.

Neil Patrick Harris voices Deadpool in Marvel’s Deadpool VR. Reynolds’s best-known portrayal is the live-action film version; the game’s casting does not mean Harris has replaced him across Marvel projects. What is Deadpool VR, and where can you play it?
Deadpool VR is an original game developed by Twisted Pixel Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. Its story sends Deadpool into the Mojoverse, where he faces Mojo and Lady Deathstrike. It was announced in June 2025 for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S; UploadVR’s announcement coverage identified it as a Quest exclusive.
UploadVR reported on November 18, 2025 that the game was out for Quest 3 and Quest 3S, and listed its US price as $50 at that time. That is a dated price report, not a guarantee of the current price. Check the Meta Horizon Store listing for current availability and pricing. A compatible headset is needed to play; it is not needed to watch Reynolds’s video, and the cited coverage does not establish a required accessory.
