What is SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS?
SEGA FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONS is a free-to-play football (soccer) management simulation. Steam lists SEGA as both developer and publisher, describes the game as powered by Football Manager, and says it features data for more than 5,000 real players from FIFPRO. Steam’s listing gives January 21, 2026 as the release date. SEGA’s launch notice says the game became playable across platforms on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 UTC+8; the dates reflect the respective listings and launch announcement.
What do the Steam reviews say?
Steam’s October 8, 2026 listing snapshot showed 33% positive from 742 all-time reviews, a “Mostly Negative” label. For the preceding 30 days, 10% of 19 reviews were positive, earning a “Very Negative” label. The recent-review sample is much smaller than the all-time total, and both counts and percentages may change.
These figures measure user-review sentiment, not a review score from critics or an assessment of every player’s experience. The available evidence establishes that reviews were predominantly negative at the time of the snapshot; it does not establish a representative explanation for why players responded that way.

What does “trending on Steam” mean here?
In a report updated October 5, 2026, Notebookcheck said the game was trending on Steam and reported that about 20% of reviews were positive on launch day. The report text available here does not establish a chart rank or how long the game remained in a trending position, so those details should not be inferred from the word “trending.” The launch-day figure is historical and is distinct from Steam’s October 8 review snapshot.
Why are players leaving negative reviews?
The available sources do not verify the main reasons behind the negative reviews. The review percentages show the overall balance of ratings, but they do not identify a reliable cause. Without evidence supporting particular complaints, it would be misleading to attribute the response to gameplay, monetization, technical problems, or any other specific issue.
