GSC Game World’s Patch 1.0.2 notes said the update fixed an A Minor Incident progression blocker in which Richter could be found dead. On November 30, 2024, one player reported that Richter was still dead at the bar after installing the patch. That account documents one save, not a widespread failure or proof that the issue persisted in later versions.
What Patch 1.0.2 was meant to fix
GSC’s official notes state: “Fixed the issue when Richter could be found dead during the ‘A Minor Incident’ mission, blocking further progression.” The wording describes the intended fix; it does not establish that every affected save was repaired. GSC Game World Support’s Patch 1.0.2 notes list six mission fixes in total:

What the player reported after the update
In a Reddit post dated November 30, 2024, one player said Richter remained dead at the bar after Patch 1.0.2. The player had activated the Mirror device and reached the point of speaking with Richter. They also said they had waited, completed side activities, and checked again after installing the update. The post’s title asks whether a new save is required, but it does not confirm that restarting is necessary.

What to do if Richter is still dead
The cited sources do not establish a verified workaround or the status of this issue in current game versions. They also do not show that starting a new save is required. For an ongoing problem, GSC’s patch notes direct players to its Technical Support Hub to report detected issues. GSC Game World Support says, “That will help us investigate your particular case and implement fixes faster.” Include details about the mission state and what happened in your save so support can investigate the specific case.
