Savage Beastfly appears twice in Hollow Knight: Silksong: first at the Chapel of the Beast in Hunter’s March, then in Far Fields as part of the Grand Hunt Wish. The second encounter requires progression through the Wish’s prerequisites and rewards a Mask Shard when completed.
Where to find Savage Beastfly
| Encounter | Location | How to reach it | Reported health | Associated reward or item |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First | Chapel of the Beast, Hunter’s March | Acquire Drifter’s Cloak, then use the upward drafts to reach the Chapel. | 550/1100, as reported by the community wiki; the page does not establish a verified game version. | Beast Crest, as listed by the community wiki. |
| Second | Far Fields, in the arena associated with Fourth Chorus | Accept the Savage Beastfly Wish and travel to the marked encounter. | 650/1300, as reported by the community wiki; the page does not establish a verified game version. | Horn Fragment for the Wish; completing it awards a Mask Shard. |
The community wiki describes Savage Beastfly as an angered adult Beastfly with a weighty body and thickened hardshell mask, transcribing the Hunter’s Journal description. The encounter details and health values are community-maintained and may be version-sensitive.
How to unlock the Far Fields encounter
The Savage Beastfly Wish page lists three prerequisites: defeat the first Savage Beastfly, discover Songclave, and defeat Fourth Chorus or be in Act 3. Its objective is to locate and defeat the Beastfly in Far Fields.
There is a progression nuance: the boss entry says the Wish does not appear before Fourth Chorus is defeated, while the Wish page gives Act 3 as an alternative. These are community-source descriptions, not official developer documentation; if the Wish is absent, check your act and Fourth Chorus progress.

What the Wish rewards
The Wish page lists a Horn Fragment as the item to turn in at Bellhart and a Mask Shard as the completion reward. Defeating the Far Fields Beastfly completes the objective.
How to handle the Beastfly’s three-charge attack
The boss entry calls one movement “Sweep,” but notes that most attack names on that page are non-canon guide terms. In this attack, Savage Beastfly charges horizontally three times, adjusting its height to line up with Hornet. Watch its vertical position as well as its horizontal approach; a dodge that only accounts for a fixed-height charge may be mistimed.
