Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24, 2025. In the game’s premise, the Paintress paints a number on a monolith each year. People of that age then disappear, and the expedition sets out to stop the pattern. This is the official story description, rather than an independent assessment of the game.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 release date and platforms
The game launched April 24, 2025. Sandfall’s release announcement listed Steam preorders; its trailer description identifies PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Availability can depend on platform and region.

What does reactive turn-based combat mean?
Sandfall and publisher SEGA describe combat as turn-based, with real-time actions layered into encounters. Players can evade and parry attacks, with successful defensive timing creating opportunities to counter. Ranged attacks can be aimed freely at enemy weak points. These are the publishers’ descriptions of intended mechanics, not a claim about how they feel in play.
Exploration, camp and party activities
Sandfall’s release-date announcement describes an overworld where players can camp, upgrade weapons and adjust character builds. At camp, players can speak with teammates and listen to the original score on an in-game record player. The announcement also introduces characters Monoco and Esquie.

Physical formats and distribution differ by region. The official edition page says the Collector’s Edition is sold out and that a restock is not guaranteed; check local retailer listings for current inventory and pricing.

Sales and soundtrack milestone
On October 8, 2025, Sandfall Interactive reported five million copies sold worldwide and more than 333 million soundtrack track streams since release. These are publisher-reported figures for that date, not independently audited totals or current October 2026 counts. Sandfall’s official announcement provides the dated milestone.
