Is Save Me Mr Tako: Definitive Edition worth playing?
It is a strong fit if you enjoy Game Boy-era presentation, exploration, and platforming that asks you to use enemies as part of the terrain. Tako is a pacifist octopus caught between the undersea Octopus kingdom and the human realm. After rescuing a drowning woman, he gains the ability to survive on land and sets out to help resolve the conflict.
The core loop combines platforming, dungeon exploration, puzzles, and boss fights. Rather than simply defeating every enemy, Tako spits ink to immobilize them and can use them as stepping stones. Nintendo’s listing describes six worlds, more than 50 levels, 16 dungeons, 50 hats that grant abilities, side quests, mini-games, dialogue-heavy character encounters, and selectable color palettes. Nintendo’s Switch listing is the source for those product details.
That mix gives the game more to offer than a short sequence of straightforward stages, though its appeal depends on whether you enjoy its deliberately old-school look and structure. The review evidence is encouraging, but the available user-rating samples are modest and should be read as snapshots rather than definitive measures of quality.

The edition is listed for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and PlayStation 4. The release date depends on the platform: Nintendo UK and Steam list May 5, 2021, while the US PlayStation Store lists May 3, 2024.

Is there a physical edition?
Limited Run Games documents a region-free physical PS4 disc for Save Me Mr Tako: Definitive Edition. Its product listing described the item as in-hand when accessed, but stock changes, so check Limited Run Games’ product page for current availability before buying. This supports the existence of a physical PS4 edition; it does not establish current stock at other retailers or on Amazon.
What age rating does it have?
