Scavenger’s Curved Sword is a curved sword in Elden Ring with innate blood-loss buildup, so it inflicts that status effect without needing a particular affinity. Find it on a corpse beside a wagon at Mt. Gelmir. Its base requirements are 9 Strength and 14 Dexterity; it can also be infused, letting you tailor its Ash of War and affinity to your build.
Scavenger’s Curved Sword stats and traits
The following are the weapon’s listed base attributes, not upgraded or infused values. Eldenpedia’s item listing identifies it as a slash-type melee curved sword with Spinning Slash.
| Attribute | Listed value |
|---|---|
| Base physical attack | 105 |
| Blood-loss buildup | 45 |
| Weight | 3.5 |
| Strength requirement and scaling | 9 required; D scaling |
| Dexterity requirement and scaling | 14 required; D scaling |
| Skill | Spinning Slash |
The weapon’s passive blood-loss buildup is innate: it is part of the weapon rather than a benefit that only appears after choosing an affinity. Its in-game description calls it a “Unique curved sword, notched like shark’s teeth” carried by corpse pillagers, and describes its blade as bloodied and heavily nicked.
Where to find Scavenger’s Curved Sword
Look for the weapon at Mt. Gelmir, west of the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace. It is on a corpse in a wagon near a ladder, close to the area where a Grafted Scion lands. ESO-UI’s weapon listing also places it by the ladders near the Grafted Scion.

How its infusion flexibility affects build choices
The sword accepts Ashes of War and affinities, and it upgrades with regular Smithing Stones to +25, according to the ESO-UI weapon guide. Because its blood-loss buildup is innate, changing affinity is a separate choice: you can select an affinity for your attribute spread or desired damage profile without needing one simply to gain the passive effect. Eldenpedia notes that Arcane-scaling affinities can scale the weapon’s innate buildup.
There is no single best affinity established here. The outcome depends on your Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane investment, the chosen affinity and Ash of War, upgrade level, target, and game patch. These listed base values alone do not establish how much damage or status buildup a particular setup will deliver in play.

- For stat requirements: You need 9 Strength and 14 Dexterity to meet its listed requirements.
- For a comparison: Compare alternatives by innate status effect, infusion flexibility, requirements and scaling, upgrade materials, and how well they suit your existing attributes.
