What is Sunderfolk?
Sunderfolk is a tactical co-op role-playing game developed by Secret Door and published by Dreamhaven. Secret Door introduced it as its first game in an announcement published by Dreamhaven on October 10, 2024: “We’re so excited to finally announce Sunderfolk, the first game developed by Secret Door!” Read the announcement.

The game combines a shared-screen adventure with individual mobile devices. The TV or monitor presents the action, while players use phones or tablets to manage their characters and cards. Dreamhaven described the setup as supporting up to four adventurers with one copy of the game. Dreamhaven’s launch announcement says: “With support for up to four adventurers via one copy of the game, Sunderfolk invites players to rediscover game night by making it easy to jump in and get started.”

How do you play with friends?
One player runs the game on a supported platform and connects it to a shared screen. The other players join the session using the free Sunderfolk Controller app on iOS or Android. The app serves as a controller and displays each player’s cards and character information; Xbox Wire also describes it as a guidebook and inventory. Xbox Wire’s launch-day overview explains the mobile integration.

This arrangement makes the mobile device part of the game interface rather than an optional second screen. Dreamhaven said players would not need elaborate setup, rulebooks, or physical game materials.
Which heroes and platforms are available?
At the October 2024 reveal, Secret Door showed six hero archetypes. That is the reveal-era roster, not a complete statement of the current roster: Secret Door later announced a new hero, the Vanguard, for Patch 2.0.

Sunderfolk is no longer only an announced game: Dreamhaven says it launched on April 23, 2025 across Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The original couch-focused concept remains central to the game’s mobile-controller setup.

On February 4, 2026, Secret Door announced that Patch 2.0 was scheduled to arrive on March 10, 2026. The announcement said the patch would add mouse-and-keyboard support and online multiplayer on PC, along with the Vanguard and new missions. Read Secret Door’s Patch 2.0 announcement. That announcement establishes the planned PC additions, but does not by itself confirm the live status of every feature on every platform or establish cross-platform compatibility.
