SEGA of America and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products announced a global Sonic the Hedgehog–DC collaboration on September 24, 2024. Its first centerpiece was a five-issue DC comic series, DC x Sonic the Hedgehog, followed by licensed merchandise and a separate 2026 comic continuation, Metal Legion.
What is the Sonic and DC crossover?
The collaboration brings Sonic and Team Sonic together with DC’s Justice League across comics and consumer products. The original comic was announced as a five-issue series written by Ian Flynn, then known for writing the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series. DC initially planned monthly issues from March through July 2025; DC’s catalog lists issue #1’s on-sale date as March 19, 2025. DC and SEGA’s announcement followed a teaser released on Batman Day, September 21, 2024.

In DC’s description of issue #1, Darkseid crosses dimensions to invade Sonic’s world in search of ultimate power, drawing the Justice League into the conflict. The issue is credited to writer Ian Flynn, artist Adam Bryce Thomas, cover artist Pablo M. Collar, and colorist Matt Herms. DC lists the issue as 20 pages, Teen-rated, priced at $3.99 U.S., and on sale March 19, 2025.
