SEGA announced that selected classic games and bundles would leave digital storefronts, ending new purchases of affected listings after their stated cutoff dates. SEGA says games already owned remain in the owner’s library. The notices cover different platforms and dates, and they do not confirm the present availability of every title in every region.
What does “delisted” mean for these SEGA games?
A delisting means a listed digital game or bundle is no longer available for new purchase through the affected storefront. It is not the same as SEGA removing a game from the library of someone who already bought it. SEGA’s support FAQ says, “Your owned games will still be available in your library.” SEGA Support’s FAQ says owned games remain available to download and play; its separate Steam notice likewise says previously owned titles stay in the Steam library. These statements describe access through those digital libraries, not a guarantee about every platform feature or future service.

When did the announced removals take effect?
SEGA’s support FAQ, updated November 5, 2025, gave a cutoff of December 6 at 11:59 p.m. PST for the listed games and bundles. That date has passed. The FAQ does not confirm title-by-title whether each listing is currently unavailable, or whether availability differs by storefront or region.
There was also an earlier, distinct Steam notice: on November 6, 2024, SEGA announced that the Mega Drive and Genesis Classics and Dreamcast Classics bundles, along with selected individual games, would stop being available for new purchase on Steam on December 6, 2024. SEGA’s Steam announcement is a separate notice from the support FAQ updated in 2025; the dates and scope should not be conflated.

- Perfect Collectors Item with so many Classic Games
- NOT OEM item, but nothing different from the official function, even better than the original. The built-in games are all US versions.
Which platforms and games are included?
The support FAQ organizes the announced removals by platform. Its lists include individual games as well as bundles and collection entries, so a product’s label and scope can vary from one platform to another.
- Steam: The FAQ lists individual classic games and bundles, including Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS into Dreams, and Space Channel 5: Part 2.
- Xbox: The FAQ lists 12 entries, including individual titles such as Altered Beast, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, NiGHTS into Dreams, and Virtua Fighter 2, alongside collection or franchise entries.
- Nintendo Switch and PlayStation: The FAQ lists SEGA Genesis Classics.
For the complete announced set, use the platform-specific lists in SEGA’s FAQ. Bundle names and product groupings differ, so one platform’s listing should not be assumed to match another’s.

Can you still play SEGA classics you already own?
SEGA says owned games remain in the relevant digital library and can be downloaded and played. On Steam, the 2024 announcement says, “No worries if you already own a game or bundle.” This is an assurance about library access stated in those notices; it should not be read as a promise that every online service or platform feature will remain available indefinitely.

How to check whether a game is available to buy now
- Open SEGA’s platform-specific list in the SEGA CLASSICS FAQ and confirm the exact game or bundle name and platform.
- Search the relevant live storefront for that exact listing in your region. A past delisting announcement alone does not establish the listing’s current regional status.
- If you already own the game, check your digital library rather than relying on whether the public store page is still visible.
