Sega Forever was Sega’s 2017 initiative to bring classic games to iOS and Android. Its launch lineup included five Mega Drive/Genesis titles, and Sega advertised offline play, cloud saves, leaderboards, and controller support—including Bluetooth controllers. Those were launch-era promises, not confirmation that every game can still be downloaded or that every feature works with today’s phones and controllers.
What was Sega Forever?
Announced by Sega Networks on June 21, 2017, Sega Forever was a growing collection of classic Sega games for mobile devices. The initiative launched on iOS and Android with five Mega Drive/Genesis games. SEGA Nerds’ launch coverage and Ars Technica’s contemporaneous report identified the initial titles.

What features did Sega advertise at launch?
Sega’s June 2017 announcement described the games as free-to-play and ad-supported, with offline play, cloud saves, controller support, and leaderboards. It specifically invited players to sync a Bluetooth controller for what it called a console-like experience. The announcement, reprinted by digitalchumps, documents those launch claims.
In a July 2017 interview, Sega representative Danny Russell said, “We’re committed to making sure all SEGA Forever titles have Bluetooth controller support.” That statement records Sega’s commitment at the time; it does not verify how a particular title, phone, operating-system version, or controller behaves today. SEGAbits published the interview on July 5, 2017.

The cited material establishes the 2017 launch, but it does not establish which Sega Forever titles are currently available for new downloads in each country or whether cloud saves and controller support work on current operating systems. Availability and behavior may differ by game, device, and region. Check the specific title’s listing in your local Apple App Store or Google Play before relying on present-day availability or features. The current Sega support material identified in the sources does not establish a Sega Forever catalog. SEGA Support
