There is no single best-hero ranking for every activity in Seven Knights Re:BIRTH. The current guides split ratings by mode, so choose heroes for the job your account needs: Pocket Gamer points new players toward Knox for tanking, Rachel and Ace for support, and Teo for PvE area damage. For late-game choices, check the relevant activity tier list rather than treating a PvP ranking as a universal build order.
How to use a Seven Knights Re:BIRTH tier list
A tier label is a shortcut to a guide’s judgment about a hero’s usefulness in a particular team or activity; it is not a guarantee that the hero will improve every account. A character that helps in arena battles may not solve a boss fight or make farming waves faster. Even within PvE, progression challenges, raids, and repeatable farming can call for different strengths.

GameWith separates its evaluations by PvP and PvE activities, while Pocket Gamer lists ratings for PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent. Their tier labels are each publisher’s assessments, not results from a controlled head-to-head test. Compare ratings within the same guide and mode; don’t treat labels from different publishers as if they were directly equivalent.

GameWith describes its tiers this way:
- SS: Meta-core for PvP or a key choice for high-difficulty PvE.
- S: Strong across multiple activities, though not necessarily optimal for the hardest stages.
- A: A situational alternative.
- B: Generally not recommended for top-tier compositions.

Which heroes are worth building early?
For a newer account, Pocket Gamer’s early-game suggestions provide a practical starting point by role. They are recommendations from that guide, not a promise that every player should build the same characters in the same order. Your existing roster and immediate progression hurdle still matter.

If it survives but takes too long to clear groups of enemies, an area-damage option such as Teo fits the problem Pocket Gamer describes. If you lack support, Rachel or Ace are the guide’s suggested early options.

The max-rank detail on Teo is a qualification, not a reason to assume a new account already receives that benefit. Pocket Gamer does not establish that the same performance applies at every investment level, so consider the rank you can realistically reach before making him the center of a long-term plan. Choose by activity, not by a universal ranking
Start with the content you want to clear or improve, then use the corresponding mode column in a current tier list. GameWith provides separate ratings for PvP, Advent Expedition, Nightmare Farming, Castle Rush, Raid, Infinite Tower, and Dungeon. Pocket Gamer’s list covers PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent. The names and categories are not perfectly identical across the guides, so use each publisher’s own labels rather than assuming that similarly named activities or ratings map exactly.

A hero’s usefulness can also depend on how developed your account is. A recommendation based on a high-rank benefit may be less immediately useful than a role-filling character you can field now. The reviewed guides do not provide a common numerical performance measure—such as damage tests, win rates, or usage rates—so a tier list should be treated as informed editorial guidance, not a precise calculator of your team’s results.
A practical build order for your account
Use these steps to make an investment decision without chasing every high-tier label. They are a way to apply the mode-specific ratings and early-game guidance, not a separate ranking of heroes.

- Name the obstacle. Decide whether you need to win more PvP matches, clear groups of PvE enemies, survive longer, or make progress in a particular boss or challenge mode. “My team is weak” is too broad to choose a useful build target.
- Check the matching activity. Open the relevant mode section of a current tier list. Don’t use a general or PvP placement as a substitute for the mode you are trying to clear.
- Check team roles. Look for a gap in frontline, support, or damage. For an early roster, Pocket Gamer’s examples are Knox for tanking, Rachel and Ace for support, and Teo for PvE area damage.
- Account for your investment level. Separate what a hero can do now from benefits that require more development. Pocket Gamer’s note about Teo’s critical-rate benefit specifically refers to max rank.
- Build toward the bottleneck. Invest first in the hero most likely to address the problem you identified, rather than spreading resources across several characters merely because they appear high on a list.
- Reassess after a meaningful change. Once the team clears the hurdle—or a patch, new character, or balance shift changes the options—check the mode-specific ratings again before making the next commitment.
This approach avoids a common trap: a character can be broadly strong and still be the wrong next investment if your team already has that role covered or your current content needs something else.
Should you reroll for a top-tier hero?
Not necessarily. Pocket Gamer says rerolling is not an absolute must and that free heroes plus early summons can be enough to progress through PvE. That makes rerolling a preference, not a requirement established by the guide for basic PvE progress.

If you are deciding whether to keep an account, weigh the time spent restarting against the roster you already have and the content you can currently advance. The cited advice concerns PvE progression; it does not establish that every roster is equally suitable for competitive PvP or the hardest endgame challenges. A goal of reaching a specific late-game mode may call for closer attention to that mode’s current ratings.
What changed in the latest available rankings?
The guides have different update dates and cover different roster snapshots. GameWith was marked updated October 13, 2026, and its latest-character discussion includes Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma from the Demon Slayer collaboration. It provides mode-specific descriptions for those newer additions. Pocket Gamer was marked updated September 2, 2026, identifies version 1.27.04, and says Dongyoung was added.
Those details make the update date important, especially for new or collaboration characters. A roster addition can change a mode’s options, and a page’s date tells you what context its assessment reflects; it does not prove that the ranking will remain current indefinitely. Check the date and version printed on a guide before spending resources based on a placement.
What the tier lists can—and cannot—tell you
Use rankings to narrow your choices, not to replace the decision about what your team needs. The available guides provide editorial tiers and role or mode guidance, but they do not supply a shared tier scale, a controlled comparison, or a sourced dataset of win rates, usage, or damage. There is therefore no evidence-backed way to convert one publisher’s SS and another publisher’s label into a numerical difference in performance.
For an early account, the concrete role suggestions are more actionable than an abstract chase for the highest tier: build coverage for tanking, support, and damage, then adapt to the content that stalls you. For a developed roster, a mode-specific placement is more useful than a general-purpose ranking. Revisit the relevant guide when the game or roster changes, and treat its judgments as a snapshot rather than a permanent rule.
