Shabriri is a figure in ELDEN RING lore associated with the Frenzied Flame. The clearest account of him comes from an in-game item description: it says his eyes were gouged out as punishment for slander, and that the flame came to dwell in his empty sockets. Beyond that, the game’s cited text does not establish a complete biography or settle every theory about his identity and role.
Who is Shabriri in Elden Ring?
ELDEN RING sets its story in the Lands Between after the Elden Ring is shattered. Demigods claim its Great Runes and fight, while the Tarnished return under guidance. That official premise provides the setting for Shabriri’s story, but it does not explain his character specifically. FromSoftware’s game manual describes the broader setup.
Shabriri is most directly connected to the Frenzied Flame through the game’s item text. A community-maintained Shabriri lore reference reproduces that description: Shabriri’s eyes were gouged out as punishment for slander, and the flame’s blight dwelled in the empty sockets. This is an account conveyed through item-description lore, not a full account of his life.
What did Shabriri do?
The cited description identifies slander as the reason Shabriri was punished. It does not, by itself, give a complete account of what he said, who punished him, or the sequence of events that followed. Treating those details as settled biography would go beyond what this text establishes.

What is Shabriri’s connection to the Frenzied Flame?
The item-text account links Shabriri to the flame by saying it came to dwell in the sockets left after his eyes were gouged out. That supports an association between the character and the Frenzied Flame, but it does not establish the flame’s origin or resolve broader claims about possession, Shabriri’s precise identity, or his responsibility for other characters’ decisions. Those are interpretations rather than facts established by the cited description.
What does Howl of Shabriri do?
Howl of Shabriri is also the name of an incantation in the game. Bandai Namco’s version 1.07 patch notes say that the duration of its effect—which raises attack power and lowers defensive power—was extended. This is a change recorded for patch 1.07, not a statement about the incantation’s balance in every later version.
