Shadow Hills Manor is an upcoming first-person horror game about a burglary that turns into a fight to escape a hostile manor. Insider Gaming featured it in its October 1, 2026 28 Games Later: A Horror Showcase; the current target release window is Q4 2027.
What is Shadow Hills Manor?
Developed by Know Buddy Games, Shadow Hills Manor follows Colton, a burglar and desperate father who breaks into an abandoned Hill family manor after hearing rumors of wealth and a hidden vault. What starts as a search for valuables becomes a supernatural survival nightmare.
Insider Gaming describes it as a “first-person psychological horror experience focused on exploration, puzzle-solving, and looting.” That focus puts the player inside the manor rather than at a distance: the central tension comes from searching its rooms while trying to stay alive.
How does the gameplay work?
The described loop combines exploration, resource pressure, puzzles, and escape. The manor’s halls can shift, so navigation is not simply a matter of memorizing a fixed route. Players search for loot, manage limited inventory, solve environmental puzzles, uncover the building’s history, and look for a way out.

How does greed make the manor more dangerous?
Looting is also a risk decision. The game’s description says that player choices affect encounters, rewards, and danger: the more greed Colton shows by taking valuables, the more hostile and aggressive the manor becomes. That makes the search for riches part of the survival system, not just a way to collect items.
The available description does not specify a numerical greed meter or explain exactly how individual items change the manor’s response. What it does establish is the underlying trade-off: taking more can bring greater rewards, but it also raises the threat.

What does the enemy do?
A hostile entity patrols the manor and investigates disturbances. Hiding is not guaranteed protection: if it sees the player enter a hiding spot, it may discover that location. Players therefore have to consider not only where the enemy is, but also whether their movements or hiding choices have exposed them.
What was shown at 28 Games Later?
Insider Gaming included Shadow Hills Manor among the 28 games in its October 1, 2026 28 Games Later: A Horror Showcase. The showcase roundup says the event featured five world premieres. The published description highlighted the game’s combination of looting and escalating danger: “Your choice of greed shapes how the manor reacts.”
